Damm, I just remembered I have a Harbor Freight fiber optic bore scope and can do it on the cheap if your insurance gives you any problems. If you think looking up a colon is bad, try going into the sea water inlet of a Navy ship's main condenser seawater side and pull out the 6 month old fish, turtles, squid and who knows what else!

You are a brave man. I'm terrified of the doctor even though I know it's silly and this could help me.

Sammy and others, if you don't get one, you're just plain stupid. I had one 5-6 years ago, and he snipped some Polyps that would have KILLED me by now. It isn't a gay thing. My last one, two years ago, I had with sedatives, but I calmly watched it. It was interesting.

Steve, they wipe it off real well before they swap ends

I am too much of a lightweight to hang in there and watch. Maybe if I drank a couple of glasses of wine a day I could rev my liver up a little. They wave a little versed at me and it is lights out. I apparently am quite amusing when I am benzodiazoplastered.

I have had a root canal, couple of colonoscopies, mole the size of a silver dollar taken off my shoulder and I have to say, the nose rebuild sucked the most, far and away.

You will stay busy, ain't no way you make that crap they have you imbibe palatable, do what they say for after. I find if I eat some yogurt afterward, it gets me back to normal faster.

Well I'm back with a final update.

The procedure went well. Like most have said here, the actual procedure was the easiest part. Before I knew it, it was lights out and then all of a sudden I was in the recovery room.

Drinking that "go juice" was the worst.

Test results: No polyps, no sign of colon cancer. Upper GI showed some signs of acid reflux.

Thank to all of you for your replies and encouragement.

If you haven't had a colonoscopy, get it done, it can save your life.

Not looking forward to it. I guess the homosexuals have the upper hand on this procedure.

It's when you wake up and they are all smoking cigarettes and you notice 1 of the guys shirts untucked and the other guys zipper is down.

I did the same acid reflux was baaaad. They put a mesh in to tighten the top of the stomach/esophogus. Lost 15 lbs cuz i couldnt eat...then gained it all back and more when i could. Have not puked since but MANY episodes of dry heaving when i eat/ drink too quickly. Still beat the schit outta running from the bed to puke before I asperated into my lungs. It's a year I never want to relive. Glad you're back with us.

Just got the note from my Doc yesterday that its time for me to have another. The first one was way back before Versed was invented and it was truly awful. Now they are not that bad but I'm on the three year plan. Six or so years ago they found 16 polyps none cancer and 3 years ago I had 36 removed if you can believe that. I KNOW that the tech then is/ was ghey and was real uncomfortable. I hope he's gone by now. If he's still there and winks at me I'm outta there at WARP speed
