Well lads I have been following this thread these last three days with active interest as I just had my first colonoscopy yesterday as well. The prep routine really does suck but unfortunately for me, they found a large tumor (type unknown) which needs to be removed, as in right away. I guess I waited too long for this procedure (I am 56). So I am dealing with this revelation as best I can. I am going to be at my doctor's office tomorrow morning at 9 AM to get the removal scheduled. So take from me, get yourselves checked out and do not delay.
All the best for everyone in the new year.

zotman72, yes, best for the diagnosis and keep us in the loop.

Hell of a way to start your year but at least you are getting done what is necessary.

sucks! Do you recall which segment contains the tumor (cecum, ascending, transverse, descending, rectum)?

Bill, I was out of work for a month when mine was removed. It is a slow painful recovery. But you will now live. Count your blessing it was found when it was.

CAT Scans and X rays show no C elsewhere in my body yesterday. Whoo Hoo. Tomorrow, I meet the specialist who will do the removal later this week. Maybe able to use lapboscopsy (sp) which might dramatically reduce my recovery time. Yesterday, my doc told me I would have been dead in 6 months if we did not catch it last Saturday. Lots to be thankful for but these past couple days really have been tough. Thanks for the support guys and if I need my "own" thread, I might start one. Happy New Year!
