how to clean the inside of a pipe ?

I have some steel pipes that I need to clean the inside of. They are 1.5 " I.D. and about 4 - 5 ' in length. So how would you go about cleaning them of dirt/rust scale ? These are part of a truck camper lift system I just purchased and I want to clean them before applying some sort of rust preventative to the inside. What would you use on the inside ? Is Great Stuff or other DIY canned spray foam waterproof ? I want to try and make the interior as waterproof as possible as it will be in contact with the ground and the ends can't be sealed because other pipes slip into them. That probably makes no sense at all

How about a flexible cylinder hone on the end of an extension? Try Cylinder Hone and Extension.

A drill with a bottle brush extension slowly rotated to rough up the surfaces along with a good soap and water scrubbing. You could then spray the inside diameter with rust inhibitor paint/primer, or maybe a clear protectant.

Those flexible hones look like something that could work. I'll come up with something thanks.

Do a search for a local hydroblaster.
Not the guys who clean sidewalks, the companies that specialize in cleaning pipes and such for refineries and petrochemical.
In the gulf area there should be lots of em I'd think.

They can do it easily, might not even charge you.
