Not for me because of what was done to the stockholders and bond holders of the old GM...

The car became available in GT5. Doesn't look that hot in the game as it does in this thread. The rear is reallly ugly compared to the simple design of older vettes. However, from the interior looking forwards, the view is great.

Aside from not liking GM for the above poster's reason, and aside from the tacky rear end, its a pretty awesome car.

I saw it in person last week at Barrett Jackson. The car looked fantastic....

I'm not much on red Vettes but it looked nice, up scale and built for business.

I look forward to seeing one in black as much of the bling should drop away

YMMV

Yet, the most hated car posted here is... No stripes, no spoilers, no fake scoops...go figure.

Back to the 'Vette...other than my political reasons for not buying one, I guess I just got too old for one...these days, I prefer a more low key image while still being a bit sporty.

The Mustang looks good. Sid is the one with his panties in a wad so badly it seems that many dislike it..

Oh well, at least the engineers got to add enough cool tech. Maybe the engineering/performance balance will be tipped for some sales.

IOW, a car with that much performance should not look so ... conspicuously puke-ish.

It's remarkable the side view comparison to the Ferrari F12. From that perspective, I like it but hard to be subjective until seeing in real.

For Ferrari, remember how many were drooling over these?

Yikes, it looks like the rear is 6 feet high, just like the Crapmaro and the Dodge Challenger.

Don't kid yourself. The Vette will remain an old guy's car. Unless you are the first one on the block taking delivery, you will not get a second look puttering to the pool hall in it.

I have to go with the ill-begotten love child of a Camaro and Viper...

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

It is not a stingray - although I do believe the best part of the car is the badging...

Give it any name except that.

This is a Stingray - one of the most beautiful American cars ever built. There is absolutely no homage to this car anywhere on the 2014 model. Every line on this car works -

there isn't a line on this car that works - not one.

The 1963-67 Corvette Stingray is one of my all-time favorite cars. It is ageless, IMO, it never stops being drop dead beautiful and purposeful looking.

That said, I don't hate the new one as much as some here. It's a bit derivative and the rear is mucked-up a little, but the silhouette is great, IMO again.

I wonder if how it is from the driver's seat will outweigh how heinous it looks. I can't imagine how it could do that.

Maybe if it was fast enough to make the starry sky look like the view out the windshield of the Millenium Falcon when it does that hyperspace thing, maybe

It looks like a modified Camaro but far better than the vettes of the mid 80's on.

Amen to that, probably my favorite American car of the 1960s. Calling the new one a stingray only invites comparison to the original, which is not a positive thing for the C7. Also odd that they would use the name but not any of the stylistic elements. Nothing about the C7 invokes "stingray" to me.
