Not my thing but not bad looking, much improved over the Volt. First thing I thought of was this though

Nicely styled inside and out. Does it have pricing as optimistic as the Volt?

Pricing hasn't been announced, but I'll bet it will be very expensive

That looks pretty nice Eric, but knowing Cadillac it's probably a $60-70k car.

Looks nice, the weight is a bit of a put off though.

That is a fine looking automobile, especially the interior. Then again, I think the volt is a sharp looking car as well.

Like the styling as a design exercise. Overall it is a good looking car. The door height seems to be a problem like the new camaro. Looks like it would get in the way while looking to the side or out the back. The wheels look slightly out of place. Outside of those few nitpicks I like it.

I'd say $55K at the low end. You're right, it might be $60-70K.

But how far off is that really?
A similarly equipped base Tesla S sedan is over $55K.
A similarly equipped Lexus ES350 Hybrid is a tick over $50K.

Lots of CTS Coupe in the styling, though I think I like it better. I agree that the high belt line will hamper visibility, it's why I hated driving the Camaro when I had one as a rental.

Door height in all new cars is a function of side impact protection.

On the ELR, me likey.

Sure, but only to a point. You don't need Camaro or M300 doors for good side impact protection. Slot windows are a design feature these days - they make the roof look chopped. Same on this car. It looks cool, but driving it feels like you are in a gun turret, IMHO. Not my cup of tea. Chances of accidents due to poor visibility definitely increase. Same for the long stretched almost horizontal A-pillars, which have been common on all the gas saver cars recently ...

One more note -

What is it with these consoles taking up 1/4 or sometimes almost 1/3 of the interior's width? It may be needed here to hide some batteries, but I continue to see this even in FWD cars where there certainly isn't much running in the center of the car. Do people like to be crammed into their position like a race car?

Personally, I prefer lots of room to my sides, including my legs and feet. It kills me when my knee keeps rubbing against a monster of a center console.

new Sube Forester lowered the door sils - so it can be done

I'm not a fan of the edgy Caddy Shack design 'language' - I do predict we will se GM use the Volt base on many future cars - it's a technology platform.

I like it!

However if (this is just me) I had that much to spend on a car I would not be concerned about fuel prices and thus not be shopping for an electric.
