Air blowers, for drying cars?

Like 911 Dude, I've got a lot of cars to keep clean. And with the salt in the air around here its a constant battle. Been thinking about getting one of those electric blowers to dry them off after washing.

Anyone here using one? Is it quicker, easier, do a good job? What brand is good?

Thanks, Richard

thats supposed to read cars in the title

So what is the deal, no one uses them? Or can't get by the mistake in the title?

Cheers Richard

I was hoping the first post would clear my confusion over the title of the thread. No luck. WTF?

I have used my leaf blower with good results, gets most of the big spots and then I go back and get the remaining with a microfiber towel.

If I understand what you are asking, then yes, they work well. Most of my Friends with motorcycles use leaf blowers to dry their bikes after they wash them. The leaf blowers blow the water off, and keeps the chrome from getting water spots. I'm sure it would work well on cars as well.

Let me clarify the OP. I have seen adds for electric hand held air blowers used for drying cars. It seems like a good idea to me, less wear on the surfaces, hopefully quicker and easier. But I have never seen one being used. So I thought to ask here about them.

I will never have one of those obnoxious gas powered leaf blowers, just to noisy for me. A couple of pro yard guys have arrived in the neighborhood with them, its starting to sound like the mainland.

Any insight into the effectiveness and ease of use of these electric hand held blowers for drying cars would be appreciated.

Cheers Richard

There's been discussion of their use here before. Most are saying that they work well in that it dries out the water in the gaps, won't scratch the paint, and eliminates water spots.

Hey bra, one Puka shirt and a blow dryer is Da Kine.

I've tried a leaf blower for these reasons but it's just too slow to thoroughly dry. Maybe I need a better blower?

I've been using a electric blower for years on my car.
It's a Husky I think... its pretty big but works great !
Good for getting the water out of the mirrors, and gets into the wheel wells.

Why not one of those spot free rinse solutions for the garden hose and a quick spin around the block?

Oh, and does someone sell something like a giant heated dryer for a bathroom?

I use one all the time. Great for getting water out of the hard to reach places. Mirrors, wheels, door and hood seams. Nothing like drying the car only to have the water run out of some hidden spot.

I use my leaf blower all the time to dry my vehicles. I go over them with that and then follow up with my towels.

Thanks guys for the reports. I think I'll look around to see what is available. I didn't know that there are electric leaf blowers.

I tried to correct the title using the the the go advanced button at the bottom of the page, but it didn't change the title on the list of threads page. How should it be done. Hopefully Pwd72s will notice also.

Cheers Richard
