What reaction do you think this commercial would get today??
If I had a bunch of spare cash laying around I would love to market something like this to see the media reaction.  It reminds me of the Maimway toys from the days when Saturday Night Live was funny.

No wonder Americans think a gun is the solution to every problem. $5.98 was a lot of money then (when I was a kid). A kid whose parents could afford that was livin' in tall cotton. Someone to be looked up to.

Angst, frustration, feelings of helplessness. Our society deemed it improper to speak out, and to speak up. Our society tells us that we cannot speak our mind without being persecuted for unpopular speech. Our society tells us we cannot punch a guy who deserves it without going to jail.
So, rather than punching a guy, the emotional turmoil builds inside each of us and has led us to where we are today. Simply put, people bottle their emotions and their anger. Some people are better at keeping the bottle capped, but sometimes the bottle breaks and people die. IMO, If there were no guns, there would be another tool to lash out with. You could argue that the guns make killing easier. It would be much harder to have a mass murder scene armed with a ballbat.
