i use pandora. with my selections and the things i've picked, it mostly plays classic rock and british punk. every now and then, it seems to focus on one or the other, which i find a bit odd. d.

My old college radio station - 95bFM broadcast from Auckland, New Zealand. No pretense just the best variety of music if have ever heard on any radio station.

Tabs may be a man of wealth and taste, but I'm a man of mystery and intrigue.
![]() Last night, after finishing my schoolwork (MBA class) for the day, I just got lost in the moment listening to a great a set of songs that were playing on my "Electronica" station on Pandora. Started with Nadia Ali's Fine Print, then Morgan Page's In the Air, Kaskade's Fire in Your New Shoes, Swedish House Mafia - Save the World, Armin Van Burren - Never Say Never, and Benassi Bro's Feel Alive. That was refreshing! Didn't have to 'thumbs down' or skip a single song for over an hour. This music may not be highly technical, like some classical baroque or old jazz music, but it has a complexity and progression about it that quite enjoy. Granted, some of it is repetitive, but within the repetition there are movements and additions that you don't see in typical pop music. While 'the beats' are very dominant in this music, it is what transpires between the beats that captivates me. What I find interesting is that what gets my endorphins going musically may just be noise to someone else, and visa-versa. Sorry of getting all philosophical. Um yeah - I like Pandora... ![]() -Z-man.

Pandora needs to be set up, thumbs up or down AND set your additional artists (add variety)
the more artists you put in the add variety the better. Nobody uses Spotify ? I like it. Takes some time to set up your stations, but once you do its pretty good. |

Old thread I'm bring up here to see if there is anymore discussion.
I just signed up for the $4/mth Slacker. It allows you do download stations (while connected at home through wifi) and play later to save from the mobile data limits. Seemed like the best deal I could find. Have not listened much to see what the music content is like.

I still use Pandora One. The cost is minimal, for no commercials. I use it at work on my computer all day long, and at home in my garage on a old laptop. I also have it on my iPhone. All tied to just one account.
The real trick is to thumbs down some of the strange stuff they will throw at you. After several years of the same account mine is pretty well tuned to my likes. It still will pull up some horrible song that requires a thumbs down to kill about twice a week for me.
