The wheels of justice turn slowly, but they sometimes turn. After many continuances and a lot of stalling somewhere in the legal system, the judge made a ruling on the demand to lower the POS's child support payments. Payment was raised from $200 to $350/month per child retroactive to the date (over a year ago) that the mom had to quit her job to care for the dying child and a guardian ad litem was appointed to check up on the dad's parenting. Maybe the best part was the judge's 1 1/2 page statement on the POS nature of the father that totally reamed him out and included, "Unfortunately, being a poor parent is not against the law in this state."
Now we are waiting for a ruling on his second demand, this one was for no child support and half-time custody. Based on the first ruling he might lose custody all together and have support raised again. ![]() ![]()

Ain't it grand when a plan comes together.
Sometimes justice does prevail, but it seems to always be slow. I heard of a similar POS dad that was claiming near poverty and wanted the child support payments lowered. A little digging found his storage unit with a new Corvette and Harley. They were seized and sold and the dad was put on probation and ordered to do community service for many weekends.
