I've noticed much more frequent trips down the hall.

On road trips asking if anyone needs to stop, praying they say yes so I don't look like the weak link.

My forehead is really tall, but don't really care. Assumed it would happen. The quarter sized grey spot on top took me off guard.

If I get less than 6 hours of sleep two nights in a row, I'm almost worthless. But cannot take a nap to save my life.

Sore the next day after almost anything.

Three drinks in one night is felt the next day.

Notice an attractive girl and think, "wonder what her mom looks like."

At 58 ˝, I still pretend that I am an Ultimate Road Warrior but my body is starting to say otherwise. Now if I catch an early flight somewhere, I am a babbling basket case when I arrive. That said, I can still zip through a road trip more efficiently than most. I drink. I smoke. I eat the rich bad foods. I have seemingly permanent kidney stones (erupting at a pace of every 2 months at the moment), teeth going to crap, aches & pains (gout????) & tinnitus with associated fairly severe hearing loss . . . but I do have all my own hair.

And I have a good life . . .

I'm 55. My cholesterol is 125. I'm 6'2", 200 pounds. I don't need any medications, but I take vitamins and aspirin. I miss that feeling I had at 18 that there wasn't anything too heavy to lift if you set your mind to it.

I was born with mild cerebral palsy. I was in Forrest Gump leg braces till I was 5. Aggressive physical therapy till high school. Played football in high school, worked construction. Hardly noticed my problem till now. The ligaments in my left leg and hip are tight and knotted. The lifelong strain has worn me down. Still, if I embarked on aggressive physical therapy again I'm sure it would help but it's honestly just too painful. When I start feeling sorry for myself I remember the other kids with cerebral palsy who never got out of their wheelchairs, never played football or wrestled with their kids. Life is good. Beats hell out of the alternative.

gonna be 48. Have run out of patience for turds with a year or two of experience yet have so many opinions and all of them attended the best schools in the nation (even though it's really #32 or worse). Also cringe when I look at new vehicle prices (WTF??) and I use a lot of parentheses when I write.

Same. I am looking at an A4 replacement - A4 or C300 M-B & seriously wtf? This is stealing from my retirement money now.

Being closer to 70 than to 60, have most of the usual aches and pains as described by the above but mainly just trying to keep on keeping on. The one really disconcerting thing over the past 10 years or so is pulling up the obits from the old hometown newspaper and instead of seeing my parents friends or the parents of my old friends, I more and more see my old friends names from the long ago.

Nothing like that to remind one of our mortality..

^^^Amen to that! Will never complain about getting older. Have a brother-in-law, about my age (54) recently diagnosed with a glioblastoma. He probably won't see his next birthday. Celebrate every minute folks...and never complain about the cost of growing older. Life is good.

ckelly - congrats on making it through all that. If you're tough enough to make it this far, you might just skate on into your 90s. Here's hoping you do & enjoy the ride all the way.

Don't get it changed that often but I find myself checking my dipstick as often as possible.

On the subject of aging, remember the 3 cardinal rules:

1. Never pass up a bathroom break;
2. Never trust a fart; and
3. Never waste an erection.

Along with the physical weakness, aches, and pains I've started feeling time is a lot more precious that it used to be. I don't have time for conflicts, bad relationships, or feeling unhappy. I've become a lot less inhibited than I used to be, I say what I want to whom I want. And sex has become a lot more interesting, even as the machinery has become a bit harder to engage. "F*&k 'em if they can't take a joke," has a whole new meaning these days.
More and more I find myself walking away from arguments, disagreements, etc. I just don't have the time. I go to PARF when I'm feeling scrappy but I never take anything seriously over there.

Yes, I am getting closer to 70 than 60 also and I am always amazed at how dumb and stupid I have gotten according to those younger folks out there. Ya, whatever
my tolerance has increased beyond, heck my wife doesn't get my hackles up anymore, yes, dear you are right again.

The hardest thing for me to realize about getting old was you do have to use it or you will lose it, you are not 25 anymore, it takes alot of effort to stay in shape.
