Ahhh another brother of the neck scar. I have one too, on the same side. Lucky to be alive. The boys here made me go to the hospital after several TIA's, they saved my life ( along with a great staff @ UPMC) I'm 100% now.

Talked to Jim this AM. He sounds much better! Said he is to the part of PT that is really kicking his butt and not seeing vast improvement, but still doing well. He said he thought he might be going for a short ride on the bike here soon!

Thanks for the update Sid! It's great to hear that Jim is making progress. I wish him nothing but the best (in moderation!).

Jim, when you get around to finishing your story about New Orleans, could the last chapter be full of greed and corruption and sex? Oh, and some naughty stuff, too. Thank you. :)

Hi guys....reports of my demise are greatly exaggerated. Although during physical I wonder sometimes. Sorry I haven't posted much...but typing with an uncoordinated left hand is a PITA...but its coming back slowly.

The night before the stroke back in late March I rode my motorcycle to a woman I'm dating's house. After coming to in the hospital I vowed I would ride it back to my house before July 1st. Happy to say I beat that goal by 10 days. Wore me out but I made it.. I did encounter a bit of a problem shifting a balky Buell shifter as I discovered it required a bit more strength and coordination than I initially thought. Not ready to go on an iron butt rally just yet tho.....

Nurse I'm dating has done an unbelieveable job of taking care of me, making sure I take meds on schedule, the occasional sponge bath, forcing me to do PT exercises, watch my diet, etc....

Thanks again all for your ongoing concern.

PICS of course...lol

Hey, Jim, you made a quick appearance on June 5th and I'll say again what I said then, "Welcome back!"

Thank him for the tip on driving the Trace, My Brother and did the full length and really enjoyed it.

That sign is less than 2 miles from my house! My back yard literally borders on the Trace. Wish you would have gotten in touch with me.

Glad you are getting better. Riding a motorcycle again = damn great.

Try voice dictation software - Dragon Dictate etc, actually the feature is built into Windows 7 as well. Works very well with a short learning curve.
