Jim - Funny stuff about the shirt, post a pic of it when able?

I have a friend that had a stroke at age 61 a few months ago....Now the bartender cuts him off sometimes because of slurred speech.......Funny, but not funny...

Then again, it might not be the first time you've been tied up in bed. :D

Guessing that you at least got a smile out of Jim (and several others here) with the above post! :)

may be cause for concern...but he may just be concentrating on stuff that matters more as well.

Just talked to Jim. Says he is staying away from the computer, too much on it to stress him out. He is doing much better. Resting lots and they are getting ready to start him in therapy. He sounds much better with very little slurring in his speech. Said he was sitting on the back porch enjoying the sunset with a glass of tea.

So all is well, he said he will check in soon.

Thanks Sidney.

I agree the last thing he needs is any urgency to keep us posted.

I'm OK with getting reports through you Sid - at whatever regularity that makes it least stressful for Jim.

Hey Dueller, hang in there and have a great "rest of your life".

Mrmerlin 04-02-2013 03:28 PM

Hey Jim be well,
I hope your recovery is fast and full!

DonDavis 04-02-2013 04:23 PM

Yeah Jim, enjoy the rest. I think you've earned the break. That sunset sounds great, too!

carambola 04-15-2013 02:48 PM

Hey Dueller, just thinking about you.
we've never had an exchange, but i appreciated your calm point of view.
now you need to finish that story.

targa911S 04-15-2013 04:12 PM

Hey stroke brother...you doin alright? Take it slow, you got all the time in the world. At least you are AT home and not IN a home. You're doing good just keep pushing and you will be fine.

DAMMIT!!! I forgot all about that...Yeah Jim...ya needs to finish that story! When able of course...Best of luck, Brotha!

MRM 04-15-2013 07:56 PM

Be well, Jim. Remember, moderation in all things. There's a Russian proverb that says roughly "hasten slowly" meaning often you get there faster by taking it slower. Don't push too hard looking for complete recovery in a day. Do it as you body is able to absorb the exercise and before you know it your shirt will say "I'm drunk, @sshole, not a stroke victim"!

Best of luck Jim and be good.

Mike

'Tis strange how the wind in this room is making my eyes moist, but there are no windows open. Strong emotions also have that effect. Well said, Richard, and thank you. :)

Jim,
Sorry to hear of your stroke. Best wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery and total healing.
I just dodged a bullet last month. Carotid artery 95% blocked. Had vision problems in my left eye for 2 years, diagnosed as "Ocular Migraines". During routine annual physical doc asks if I still have that eye problem. Two MRI's later and an ambulance ride to Tufts Medical in Boston, I had an emergency Carotid Endarterectomy. I was very, very lucky and am recovering.
Keep the faith.
All the best,
Maxhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1367027934.jpg

tevake 04-26-2013 06:39 PM

Whew Max Von that sounds like a close one. Glad you caught it in time. Good warning for us all to not just try to ride thin gs out. ( my MO)

Sid have you heard from Jim lately? Send him our best regards if you do talk with him.

Cheers Richardhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1367030214.jpg
Thank him for the tip on driving the Trace, My Brother and did the full length and really enjoyed it.
