I am weak, I broke down and bought one

After a month with no TV I bought one, still not sure why. Same crap as last month, nothing new, just a bigger TV and 10 years newer. Tha last one, 46" Panasonic just wouldn't die, we finally gave it away and thought it was ok. But I went to Best Buy and what happened, I came home with a 55" Samsung. A much better picture, better sound, everything is better, the woman on Castle looks better. But it's still the same crap. I just missed a month of re runs.

I saw a lady buy an 80"er in Costco the other day.

It was huge!

Walking Dead and sports are my sole justification for having tv. I used to say racing, but it's hard to find any of that worth watching either.

Big screen tv is great for watching golf. Can' t relate to walking dead though. Each one to their own.

I've always thought that if I had kids I absolutely wouldn't have a TV.

Often I think that I should get rid of all the TVs in the house - they really don't provide very much value - like the news bites on Yahoo - enticing till you get into it and every single time you shake your head and say "I fell for it again..."

When you first make the switch from an old 720p set to a 1080 set with a high refresh rate, that is when you appreciate the advances in new TVs. Any new show that is filmed in HD looks phenomenal on a new HDTV.

And yes, there is some good stuff on TV. Masterpiece is usually good. I kind of dug Continuum on SyFy and Warehouse 13 starts in a few weeks. The new series of Dr. Who starts this weekend on BBCAmerica. I mainly like to watch the Military Channel though. Lots of good things there. I don't usually watch too much network TV outside of Castle and Once upon a time.

I don't have TV and I have two boys. We have a tv and a DVD player but I can't remember the last time we used it. Maybe two weeks ago? No cable or antenna, so no channels. We do have Hulu and an iPad/itouch that the boys sometimes watch things on but we really don't miss it. They never ask for it. When they are at their Dad's they watch TV. I don't even turn on the TV when I travel in hotel rooms. Found I had so many other things to occupy my time. Exercise, sleep, work, hobbies. The only drawback is sometimes I feel a little behind on world events but Pelican keeps me abreast on big things and I can always google stuff.
