The base "S" is 62,000 (after you and I subsidize it) and you can't lease them. In a little over 170 months you could own it. Now since they don't qualify for most conventional auto loans since they are "boutique" cars you're also looking at around 8% interest on that.

Secondly your insurance costs are very, very high on a Tesla. Insurance is figured on how much it will likely cost to replace a fender, or a bumper. Well when you have one vendor supplying that part the insurance cost goes through the roof. Trust me, we checked.

Have anyone of you guys actually driven a Fisker? I have, and although it looks nice, I wasn't very impressed. The interior felt flimsy, the computer screen and graphics seemed dated, and the car felt big and bulky. I guess the only thing really interesting about the car was that it had a nice shape and offered a rarity in the car market that made the owner feel exclusive (i.e. there were only a few people in Europe who own one). Here is a pic of the one I was in....

Not much on reading things through, are you? My statement was that things that were subsidized are at serious risk of failure when the subsidies dry up. Fisker is/was being kept afloat by government loans and grants, not by the sales of their cars. The Prius program received subsidies to a much smaller degree, as well as buyers receiving subsidies with the purchase of a Prius. Toyota is also one of the largest and most profitable automakers in the world, they don't need government money to keep the lights on. But thanks for your poorly reasoned and communicated argument.

Yes, it was terrible. Had it for 48 hours.
