My wife just called with the latest news from the 'hood.
I am soooo glad I am not around right now.

Several weeks ago... maybe even a couple months back... dikbag, I mean Bob, called the police on Jay. His allegation was that Jay had been shooting a shotgun at Bob's airplane.

Police arrived on scene, and the story was clarified to be that Jay was shooting his shotgun at Bob's parked airplane. Jay allegedly was shooting from his house, lobbing birdshot over trees, onto Bob's airplane parked 200 yards away. (I measured the distance with online satellite photo tools).

Police investigator arrived and found a lot of birdshot, both around and under the airplane. The investigator determined, in his opinion, that the shot was virgin (never fired) and had been scattered by hand. They dismissed the allegation and dropped the matter.

About two weeks ago, I received a call from an FAA agent. He was asking me if I had contact info for Bob and Jay, and I gave it to the agent. I didn't ask why, because I really could care less. As to why the FAA called me, I am the airport manager. And also, they like me.

Today my wife filled me in. Apparently, not satisfied with the police failing to arrest Jay, Bob called and filed a complaint with the FAA. All you have to do is make the allegations, and the FAA is obligated to investigate. And my wife says the FAA was all over the airport Friday and Saturday.

Again, I am soooo glad that I left on Thursday!
