Put him in the long boat till he's sober...

When I lived in Newport we would get stupid drunk on Lower Thames and sing this song for over an hour making up all kinds of ridiculousness...it prolly gave the tourists a sense of the seaport town they were looking for...we were just drunk fools!

Hang around with him. Maybe you can get the benefit of the way he spends.

At least when he runs out of money he quits spending.

Lubey: I didn't know you had lived in Newport. I just moved to Newport.

In the old days drunken sailors were funny, not so much now.

Awesome town! I lived off Ruggles Ave, Narragansett Ave, Katherine St and spent so much time on upper and lower Thames and Brentton Pt - best time of my life

I'm in an apt on Spring St. Moving my family to Middletown, inbetween 1 and 2 beach. We will only be here 1 yr sadly.. But it IS fun so far. If I weren't do damned busy I could get into trouble on Thames for sure!

In the days of old, drunkards would wake up on ships, pressed into service. THAT would suck

Lubey,
I go to Newport 5-6x a year. Stay in the old jail on Marlboro.
Love that town. Hang with the heroes from the war college.

Snapper,
Will do, may need more than a beer.
You'll love, or may know some of my friends.
Next trip is probably late May/early June.
