The Cowboys starring The Duke. One of the handful of movies he died in. Also on my list is The Shootist, co-starring Ronnie Howard. Another movie he died in, and one of my favorites too.

True Grit - John Wayne
Once Upon A Time In The West - Charles Bronson Quigley Down Under - Tom Selleck Appaloosa - Ed Harris and Viggo Mortensen The Frisco Kid - Harrison Ford and Gene Wilder Now, don't laugh, but Cowboys & Aliens had the makings of a GREAT western, but then it got stupid with all the alien bullsnot.

I know you have a young son. Some good ones are Shakiest Gun In The West with Don Knotts and Rhustler's Rhapsody with Tom Berenger, you'll both get a kick out of them.
Others are Tom Horn, The Cowboys, Shane, Stagecoach, McClintock, Rio Bravo and anything with Lee Van Cleef (badass). James Coburn and Charles Bronson made some good ones also (Chato's Land, Duck You Sucker, etc.)

Also West World, The Son's Of Katie Elder.
I was the fortunate recipient of the "Complete Collection Of Wild Wild West" for Christmas. If you can't be entertained by Robert Conrad and Ross Martin as James West/ Ar****s Gordon and their "James Bond" devices and cool ass railroad car, then you don't know how good old TV was.
