Excellent Police work performed by Law Enforcement in Boston

I spent yesterday rooting for the Police and citizens of Boston. What a great example of police work and cooperation from the residents of the Boston area.
My condolences to those killed and wounded by the explosions, the Police officer killed and the other wounded.
I don't know any member in Law Enforcement in the Boston area but would be proud to. What professionalism they demonstrated.

Don't mess with Bostonians. We'll shut down the city and hunt your butt down!

Kind of a contrast to the recent LAPD attempts.

You read my mind, Dansvan. Although I understand they burned the boat with a flash-bang, they did manage to take him alive.

With all the coverage of how out of character this was for the perps, makes you wonder if they had loved ones in the old country with a gun to their heads instructing these guys to do some horrible things. Not much else makes sense, but...probably not much sense to be made.

Glad the younger one was taken alive. A little interrogation should tell a lot. Although the public may never know. If it were LA, he'd have been Swiss cheese and unable to provide info. Masterful work by the PD for sure.

Ask posted last night in another thread, I thought it was fantastic to see the people in the streets applauding their police as they drove past. Job well done for sure.

It was interesting that the father in Russia said his sons were framed. Unbelievable.
It is not unusual for some parents nowadays to think that their children were not capable of crimes but actually were.

Finding them and apprehending them....yes, good job.

I'm a little uncomfortable on the amount of rounds fired when one of the brothers was killed. Am I the only one that feels the plethora of shots fired and lack of complete results a bit....I dunno haphazard?

Were the officers at that scene the trained SWAT guys or were they beat cops? Just asking and NOT casting doubt on their bravery.....but 400 rounds? Or was that report incorrect?

Lot of flying lead, a teenager escapes to fight again.

Also....a complete lock down of the City?

Just asking questions...don't shoot the questioner. I'm sure some talking head will be asking the same or already has.

I'd like to hear some reporting about how folks were treated by the "troops" as they searched house-to-house. It could go a long way to quell fears about the "police state" concerns that may linger. It was definitely disturbing to consider an entire city on lockdown with police armed to the teeth barging into private homes without warrants. Judging from the cheering community after the arrest, I would tend to think there were few, if any unnecessary violations of privacy, and folks' cooperation seemed to create a favorable environment for the capture.

Have to wonder how things would have gone down in a less cooperative community.

It is easy to armchair the actions of LE but I do know that if a lock down and door to door hunt happened here I would not be too willing to open a door.
I can defend my house better then anybody can simply because I know the layout.
It is good that they got the guys, and I know if you want to make an omelet you have to break a few eggs.
I have mixed feelings about the situation.

I'm not so sure I was impressed. How many thousands of cops did it take to find one guy who was only found when the boat owner discovered him hiding there? It probably won't make the news, but I'm guessing a few regular folks will be filing lawsuits later on, the ones whose houses were entered without warrant or consent and probably some of the businesses that were closed. Would have been nice to have caught these guys before they acted, since they had given plenty of clues.

The cop that found #2 in the boat....who was he again?

I give the whole city of Boston a thumbs up.

Send 'em to Benghazi....we have more suspects to hunt down.....I think Boston is the man for the job.

If you listened to the whole interview, the father also doubted his sons were involved because the perps had guns and he said, in effect, how could his sons have guns, it would be impossible. Now that's unbelievable.

I don't know but seems the cops had them both pretty much in thier sights during the shoot out and the kid got away and it took over 12 hours to find him.

Amazing police work. I have no problem with a few invasions of privacy, especially considering the extreme violence of the two perps. Whoever was coordinating the various levels of law enforcement did an outstanding job.

Also, this incident sends a message to other terrorist groups (whether you agree with that term or not), and they are now fully aware that the consequences of their actions are likely to be very quick and severe.

this.

Somebody at FBI and Homeland Security should be very concerned about this.
