10 years here, I don't think I've had it off. I'm not a jewelry guy, so when we went to get my ring I bought the simplest and cheapest one that they had. I think I spent all of $50 on it. It's small and weighs nothing so I don't even notice that it is there.

I take it off when I work on the car or something. Scrub for surgery I tie it to the drawstring, then put it back on afterwards.

In my almost 12 years of marriage, my wedding band has been off twice - once for gall bladder surgery and the other for a colonoscopy. I remember how odd it felt when the ring was first placed on my hand but, now, it has become part of me. My wife was a bit different... she stopped wearing her engagement ring when she was in medical school because of the frequent scrubbing up she had to do during her clinical rotations (... well, that is the story she told me!). She lost her wedding band last Thanksgiving at the hospital. She, too, felt almost naked without that so we obtained an almost identical replacement.

That's what my husband says!..I thought he was completely full of sh*+ .... Extra special dinner for him tonight

I wear mine most of the time(hence the reason it is covered in unidentifiable stuff often) and occassionally, I don't. He doesn't wear his because he can't at work and it's titanium so not very comfortable. I don't really care...he'll put it on for anniversary dinners and such.

I don't get hit on often with out Joanna being there, wedding ring on or off.

Joanna is in a wheelchair and and the looks that women give me while I'm tending to or taking care of her is another thing.

It seems that the hotter looking the lady is the more that they look at with a fond smile. Joanna never seems to see it but they seem to sneak in a glance to me when her head is turned from the ladies.

I wore one in a previous marriage. Not in this one. Tried for awhile but it bothers my hand when I'm playing and since I play every day, easier to leave it on the nightstand.

Always done electronic work around aircraft, not allowed to wear it. Has sat in her jewelry box for many years now. She and I both know I am married so not a big deal.

Been happily married for 25 years, and wore it for maybe the first 6-7 years until we had to have it redone due to wear and tear for the third time (twisted, bent, gold worn down). I don't believe i've put it on for 15 years now because of busted swollen knuckles.

Never took my ring off for 28 years. One day hit a door frame, jammed the ring finger. It started to swell and turn purple. So I used the dremel to cut it off (ring not finger). Never fixed it or got another one. The wife's ring, uhmmmm doesn't fit, so she doesn't wear hers either

As a Geroge Clooney look alike, the ring keeps the other women from hitting on me. It really works for me. I am sure it is the ring. What else could it be?

I don't wear one at work. I worked with electricity and tools the last few years as a commercial electrician. I haven't decided about the new gig. "No watches, rings, or dangly things" is my electronics mantra. It is second nature to take them off and put them in my pocket and keep my hand there. That's the other rule, one hand for live circuits if you can't turn them off.

I only wear it when I take my wife out on a date. She understands that I don't like wearing rings very often.

Old thread...but did until Wednesday. For 15 years. A nice gold and platinum band that started shiny but had been beat up by working on my car and everything else. It never bothered me even when playing guitar and biking and other stuff.

Was on vacation this week and had it at 12:30 when we had a family photo taken. Went back to the hotel, played in the pool with the kids. Showered and went to dinner. When I got to dinner it was gone.

It feels a little naked and awkward now. I went all over the hotel pool hung signs, had the hotel check the wink trap, drove back to where I was biking to see if my bike glove pulled it off (unlikely since it was hot). I checked the minivan a thousand times (I drove to dinner and was filling with the lumbar adjustment) and will pull the seats out when I get home before I finally give up

I lost a little weight in 15 years but never had it slip off before. Ever. I never worried about it. The sentimental aspect and the purr mystery is eating away at me. Weird.

My first marriage I refused to wear it (she was SUCH a BEEAATCH!). Cut my finger and it had to be cut off in the ER. That gave me a good excuse.

After 20 years with the new wife, I wouldn't think of taking it off. I don't think it's been off in 20 years actually.
