Best roads I have ever driven....

Sunday after work, I took a roadtrip. I was supposed to go the LBGP on Sunday, but I had to work, instead. The journey I embarked upon, some might say is crazy, given the time that I did it in.... (You'll have to zoom out to see it)

This trip contained some of the best roads I have ever driven on. Scenery like no other.

The stretch past the Rogue River in Oregon from Crater Lake down to Grants Pass was unbelievable. It continued on the 199 to Crescent City, and right on down the PCH. I just got back. Just under 1800 miles from Sunday night to Wednesday night. Whew.

Oh yeah...an hour was spent combing the beach at Eagle Lake in Northern California because my wallet fell out of my pants.

Nice little run! In the Fiat or the Ferrari? I'm jealous man! I'll be driving in that part of the country this summer, but in a trailblazer pulling a trailer.

Sadly I think most of my time will be spent between PHX, Reno, and maybe some of Norcal...

But if I make it down there you know I'll at least try to grab lunch with ya!

Crater lake is pretty cool. I loved all the waterfalls along the way.

This is why many of us live in NorCal.

In addition to the route you took, you would be amazed how many secondary roads are even better.

For instance, US 89 to Medicine Lake Road to Lava Beds and back around Mt. Shasta on US 97 is an incredible detour (and closed in winter).

Or Sea Ranch to Geyserville via Long Meadow Rd > Timber Ridge Rd > Annapolis Rd > etc. is also very special (and a blast in the rain!

We should start a long "best drives" thread...

Very glad that you were able to make this drive!!!

You guys in California are definitely blessed with many fabulous roads; and many of them have little or no traffic in the off seasons. Cheers

Montana - the Beartooth hwy is stunning and the most scenic I have driven, save for the Going to the Sun Rd in Glacier (also Montana)
