Here's a couple ads that I have on my phone (found them in some old magazines that weren't for sale, otherwise I would have bought them):

If there was a book available with all of these old ads in it I'd buy it for sure....

Very cool. I've only driven one and it was a turd. I've always been interested in one, would love to find a decent one some day. Sad thing is you rarely see them around here anymore.

My first car was a '62 VW Bug...paid 75 bucks for it. I rebuilt the motor for cheap using JC Whitney parts and drove it cross country. It served as my daily driver during my first few years in CA and it never missed a beat. So many people have had a VW play some small part in their life. I hear all kinds of stories from folks who'll start talking to me when I pull my Karmann Ghia in for gas or park it downtown.

Sure wish this collection were mine...

I had that book - used it with my '67 and then '62 baja (which I too had to push to start every morning).

Loved my '67.

My favorite from said collection of VW ads:

Picture of Wilt Chamberlain standing next to a beetle. Caption: "They said it couldn't be done."

Turn the page to find multiple smaller pics of Wilt trying to get into the car. Caption: "It couldn't. But if you are between 4'10 and 6'5", you can fit comfortably into a VW bug."

nice ad - it makes fun of the puffery in other ads and gets you to actually read the text too
