I was hiring for a junior computer tech job. Lots of applicants were suitable. One guy had worked for four years at KFC during high school and uni. That was one of the main reasons I hired him. If you can survive four years at KFC you stick around, you are not too sensitive, you don't think certain things are beneath you, you have excellent survival skills.

The contractor that helped me during my youth and kinda walk me through getting my business started was a neighbor that lived up the street that watched us little kids grew up. he came back from Viet Nam, bought a house in our hood, finish USC, Law school and passed the BAR and became a General Contractor for the wealthy. He did it so he can shut his old man up. He would have been 3rd gen lawyer from Pasadena. Drives a old Chevy Station wagon with dirty boots, crawls under his car all the time fixing things, and down to earth guy. Owns a bunch of things where most people would retire and live in Hawaii. You just never know.

I give the guy credit too,, because he owns the damn place. He gave the card just so he can get back to the thick of things that he really like to do. Maybe the U haul was part of his retirement plan.
