Sad. I hope he recovers well.
Is it possible to retrofit shoulder belts in the early cars?

I think there are imbedded nuts in upper section of the 'B' pillars, but don't remember when they started installing them. I believe it was '68 on. Anything can happen within a split second. Sounds more and more like installing a GoPro on the dash is a wise decision ... maybe he did swerve to avoid some sort of obstacle that didn't stick around for the aftermath ? Get Well sir.

Willtel, and all others. Please do not make assumptions when you have no idea what the hell you are talking about. That is a photo of George crossing the road from the parking lot where we were staying to the one directly across. He is not sideways!!!
George is a senior, quite reserved and a very accomplished driver. Instead of just trying to just have something to say you should be supportive as no one knows exactly what caused this tragic event. This could have happened to any one of us. |

I think willtel was joking. Perhaps not a well thought out joke, but I don't think he was serious.

This is not a subject for brevity however you dress it up
Think about it, This is a sobering event Both Joe (Juggino) and I were among the group that was with George for lunch and saw him walking around healthy and well very shortly before the accident happened. Both He and his family need our support as do the other two drivers who were with him, and whose actions saved his life. instead of blithely writing 'chill out' you should think about what other people who were on the run and therefore close to this feel. While you guys are a bit hypersensitive at the moment, it was OBVIOUS that Willtel wasn't being serious. It was obvious to anyone (unless you were blindly emotional) that his comment was not a character attack on George.
Juggino is reading between lines where there aren't any to be read. Yes, it is a heavy subject, but people cope and react differently. Some choose to lighten it up a little instead of writing depressing posts. Attacking other posters by reacting like Juggino and yourself isn't any better, imo. |

Hypersensitive ? ... blindly emotional ?
Nah I'm just smart enough to know when something is appropriate to bring facetious or otherwise humor to and when its not. One look at the pics at the top of the thread and its blindingly obvious to my hypersensitive, blindly emotional self what the timbre of the thread should be ... Ooops looks like i'm attacking you now, yikes ! |

I don't know George, I'm not a doctor, and I'm not religious so besides adding a little brevity to a crap situation there is nothing I can do. So you can either have a chuckle at what any sane person would realize is a comment made in jest, or you can stuff it. ![]() |
