This is why I say everything in life is about perspective. Stand back. You will see your problems and worries are actually lucky blessings because someone on the other side of the world, or even across the street may not even have the opportunity to have your "problem".

Every day I am thankful for what I have. Even if I was broke in this country, my life would be better than the one I would have had in Vietnam. My aunt sells chicken she has cooked on a street corner all day, and I mean all day... From morning to about nine o'clock at night. For a couple of dollars. I am thankful everyday that I have running water in my house.

It's all about perspective. Life is good.

Gotta agree. I've been blessed to have been able to travel and see first hand the "other world". Brings to light an old truth......"no man holding 4 aces ever ask for a new deal".

I couldn't agree more! I wish I traveled more in my youth but after my divorce last year I decided it was time to be be a different person with the biggest changes being the way I treat loved ones and to travel more. I'm writing this from a little hotel in Paris with my son who turns 19 tomorrow! And in 9 days I'll be in Thailand with my girlfriend who's home visiting her family.

Very good post Don. When I travel, weather it's another country or even a region of the U.S., I try and sample the local flavor and culture.

I remember going on a fishing trip to Rancho Buena Vista in Baja with a group. There was this guy from Oxnard who was completely miserable. All he talked about was getting back home so he could have a Bud Light and a Big Mac. He was Hispanic and he kept calling all the waiters and fishing guides "wetbacks". I had to remind him they were still in their home country of Mexico, we were the actual "wetbacks". What a friggin' dumbass.
