I guess I'll post to keep the thread going. These are just a couple. The first is my stainless Tag- my first "pricey" watch. The 2nd one is a Callaway quartz I picked-up just the other day for bumming around in since the Tag is kind of formal. Total impulse buy (the Callaway)- and for $55 I love the way it looks! I also have a Rolex Daytona replica that fools many.

I really want the split-minute chrono Aquatimer, but it's waaayyyy out of my range. I also like the Pepsi bezel GMT's. I just wish Rolex made stuff with 44mm or larger bezels.

The new Sea Dweller is larger than the old one. Not sure if it is 44mm though, that is quite large...FlavaFla.

Just checked, it is 43mm.

Sorry for the late post!
I've had one for over a year now - great watch! Accurate, fits well and looks great! I wear it almost as much as my IWC Mark XV!
Pick one up if you see it for a decent price (should be some bargains out there in our current economy)!

Of course, a Glock 30 would be cheaper! )

Here is my latest watch fetish. Vintage Chinese mechanicals. Lots of great quality watches from the 50s to 70s at dime store prices but appreciating very very fast.

The one on the left is an original issued Chi Com Army watch for Division Commanders and up (=Generals i think) in the 70s, very few made even fewer survived. Right is the re-issue version.

Like with most things on this board I don't have 1/2 the knowlege of many of you.

Watches / time pieces are a family addiction that was passed down from my father. Growing up he always had really nice Rolex's. He got tired of the inaccuracy I think and moved over to Omega's. His obsessive hoarding has now moved onto military and ships clocks. I think my last count had over 30 and untold number or pieces parts, its very cool but he does have an addiction, that I do feel sorry for; its just sad to see. His other rather MAJOR obsession would be mostly odd old, and vintage military binoculars. If any of you guys have specific needs of either, or need parts PM me your needs.

His love for time pieces was passed down to me and now I've had as many watches as girlfriends in all my 38 single years

I tend to be VERY harsh on watches, so I always had elCheapo's and even those didn't last long. When I went into the service I needed something a bit more robust, 'that could take a licking,' so I got a Seiko perpetual mid 80s. Anyone who that has had on a pair of fins and a mask has had one of these. The face at times too bright so we would use gaffers / rigging tape or Velcro strips to cover. This was stolen while I was on leave, I would love to have another.


Then it came time when I got my issue watch and well, I've never NEEDED another watch and honestly do not think it can be destroyed! However, I did drop it on its face from quite a height and had to replace the crystal. I would not call them an attractive watch, but it is the epitome of function and strength! It does not have typical pins, rather metal rods built onto the case. This does limit your choice of straps but again this is a utilitarian watch. I HIGHLY recommend anyone wanting and needed a sturdy work watch, something that will last and be very hard to kill. Though I didn't have to pay for mine they have gone up exponentially over the past couple of years. I think that was due to Gen. Schwarzkoph, I had this picture but cant seem to find it. The picture was taken during one of his visits during Op Storm/Shield.


I've owned Rolex's a GMT-MASTER and Sub-OYSTER, I never cared for how they kept time. Once while I was loading the washer and dryer the bezel got caught on the rim of the washer and pulled the damn thing apart at the bezel. I got it fixed and sold the very next day. My only current dress watch is a late 50-60s Seamaster and I love it! I was given a Luminox Seal stainless by a girlfriend that either couldn't keep her military men straight or branches of service. This is a pretty rugged watch that has a tendency of pulling arm hair that can be a pain. It must be worked on a proper jeweler and not just someone who replaces batteries. I took it to have its first battery replaced, when I got it back when you secure the stem if over torque it will stop the movement. It now has a very fine line between being tight and water resistant and frozen. Choose your watchsmith (is that a correct title?if not it should be

My dad has that clock in the background too. Hey, what's the diameter on that Airman sans crown? I've seen them from 38mm to 46mm. Not sure which is which submodel.

This one is 42mm. My previous is 36. I think this one is a better size.

I love the clock. It's got lots of patina. I'd really like to get one of th 24hr models too.

My father is a HUGE collector of old clocks of this type. If you get me the
model of the one you want he may have one to sell. He has no joke
STACKS of clocks laying around his house and BOXES of parts. I've been
trying to get him to keep listing them on EBAY because I don't want to
deal with it if for God sakes he passes. It would take me years to get
all of them listed.
