Get the BBQ going, cook some steak, take the coals out to the holes and place a few in each. Keep an eye out for the hole you missed and mark it for next time. Then start your CO2 treatment. It'll probably put out the coals, but they will be hot and smokey. I don't think Mr. GH will want to scramble over the hot coals.

If you get a lawnmower to run rich, it will definitely pump out some CO. But the CO2 sounds good because it is odorless whereas the CO will be mixed with other exhaust fumes. Best part is you can use CO2 for MIG welding.
