Agree- this one had everything in it. Now we'll have wait for 8 hours so everyone has a chance to see it before we can comment on the winner.....

I put up a spoiler warning, but some will still cry. Seems to happen just about every race.

Fantastic race, especially the last 15 laps indeed! The coming weeks before German GP will be very interesting for Pirelli and F1 politics. Massa made great comment about it being a safety issue more then anything else... The teams could have been on Pirelli's new tire but all teams couldn't agree, we will see how that changes!

Karma finally caught up with SV too! Couldn't happen to nicer guy

Feel for LH too.

Was nice to see F1 cars racing at 10/10ths for a change....Webber said something to the effect of "I'm going for it" or "I'm on it" .... Yes!

Bring on the Ring!

SPOILERS!!!!

That is probably one of the best races in recent history. So nice to see a real race at the end. It was also nice to see everyone's strategy get thrown out so the only way to win was to go balls out. There was so much great driving going on. Kudos to Hamilton for not having a temper tantrum and mounting a comeback.

I watched three quarters of the race and kept thinking to myself: "That lucky SOB Vettel, nothing bad ever happens to him and he's always there to take advantage of other's misfortune."

Maybe F1 will be more open to another tire war now. It's seems to me that Pirelli was the source of the problem today...

A very entertaining race with lots happening right to the end. Very "scrappy" good old "bring it on" stuff. If you've not seen it yet try to and avoid reading here as it is very close to being *spoiled*. Enjoy!

The real spoiler was NBC Sports. The broadcast was delayed and not live and actually started 17 minutes later than their scheduled start. During those 17 minutes, they did a sports round up and broadcast that Vettel retired and that Nico won! What a bonehead move! Ruined the race for me in what would otherwise have been the best race of the year.

^^ I know! WTF was that?

I lucked out and just caught the very beginning of them talking about it - the first maybe 2 seconds - and quickly hit PAUSE as I looked down and away from the TV. I also hit mute. Then I looked down as I fast forwarded through what looked like the Tour De France highlights through my peripheral vision. Finally, 17 minutes into the broadcast, they started with the pre-race and then the race.

This was similar to a bonehead move maybe a month or two ago in which all of us got to watch the post race celebrations BEFORE the race broadcast. I mean, WTF are they thinking when they do this?!

GREAT race though!

Pirelli's got some 'splaining to do.

The race was carried live on CNBC this morning. I caught it there by accident. Who knew? The fools at NBC know nothing about the sport, and it shows...;((

It was advertised during qualifying as being live on cnbc, and also on the NBCSports web site. Still easy to miss. Also note that the next race is also on cnbc.

Wow, those last seven laps were amazing. No tears for SB, but felt bad for LH - he did a nice job of clawing back in as did FM. Great to see W2W at its best, despite knowing the tires were a time bomb.

BTW, I dug into the schedule to double check the live broadcast, and went on information black out (such as this thread) until I could watch the race.

I really wish F1 would do away with this mandatory option tire crap. It cheapens the whole thing for me. I wish Pirelli would just make 4-5 compounds from ultra soft to ultra hard and let the teams choose whatever combination thereof that they want to. If a team wants to try to run the whole race on a hard compound then so be it, just like back in the day. Having said all that, though, it was a fun race.

Like someone said earlier, with so much drama and everyones strategy blown to bits, it was great to see the drivers able to just go for it with what they had - exciting stuff and not just at the front - all the way back to seventh was a dog fight in those last few laps.

Mark Webber's drive benefitted from the safety car after dropping back at the start and crawling his way back into the top 10 - even setting fast times with a damaged front wing again (same as Canada). After the field closes up behind the safety car and his pits tell him that conserving tyres was no longer an issue, you could hear the delight in his voice. Told to chase down the cars in front of him, he responds "thats going to happen" - what every driver wants to do and what the fans want them to do.

How is it, in this age of internet web sites, program guides and a million commercials about the upcoming races, half of you guys miss the live broadcast every race?

I think you'll find part of the explanation includes a discussion of a couple of the curbs. Point being that had the drivers not been using them so hard, they would not have been damaging the tires.

I try HARD to miss all commercials. I prefer to record the race and watch it at my leisure later, and skip the commercials. I really suspect they are trying hard to make that plan more difficult. They change the broadcast channel and the delay constantly.

:
it was broadcast live - on CNBC. I saw it on NBC sports mentioned a couple times during the weekend and saw it mentioned on twitter...saw the event live thankfully, turned it on righ as they made their formation lap

or, you can just search in Tivo or your cable box and it should pull right up

The 11 am replay was delayed by a few mins due to the Tour de France

I skip all the ads, too. If you notice, Leigh will announce the next race times during the wrap-up show....

Best race I've seen this year, finally one with excitement and actual car breakdowns.

Fantastic wheel to wheel the last few laps!
