Advice on Regional Vehicle Transport
So here is my issue. I'm having difficulty in consistantly finding the right vehicles to 'flip' within say................250 miles or less. The further I go out to say 400-700 miles from my Casa the market is better (for me) as well as the pool of potential candidates.
I have a very good, trustworthy guy that will take or fetch my stuff at a moments notice with dead-nuts reliability. The problem is $50 load fee + $3.00 per loaded mile which is about what most good guys get in my area. I'd like to find someone who will provide me with the same service but less $$. I know about all the major carriers, but the main issue is time in pick-up and delivery. Id like to find a guy who specializes in more regional transport who is flexible and less expensive. Advice please................

There are a couple of options or three. Search the internet/yellow pages for a cheaper carrier or ask more for the car you are selling to cover the increased costs of shipping....
Buying vehicles cheaper and put less hours/$$ into them. ![]() |

Get your reliable guy to incorporate as a business, then buy a portion of it as a "share". Say, buy 40% of the business, and you pay the $50 pickup fee and $1.25 per loaded mile.

Any reason you can't get them yourself? You can pick up a decent truck and car trailer for $5000 if you don't get fancy. It doesn't take many vehicles for that investment to pay for itself.
Are they running cars? If they are, I have used one way plane tickets and one way rental cars pretty frequently.

I'm a one man show / part time. In the past year or so I've bought 6 vehicles. I have an SRT8 GC but it's not rated to tow a car trailer and vehicle. Plus a you have all sorts of carying costs related to owning an extra vehicle and trailer. I'm not at a level yet where this makes sense for me.
If I drive back, I have to go to DMV here and obatin a temp tag, insurance and then bet on I'll actually complete the deal once there. I've made more than one trip where I decided not to do the deal for various reasons. Also I have limited time available.

If you had a tow vehicle it's easy to drive to your destination, rent a U-Haul trailer, then bring it back home and drop it off. You don't need much SUV/truck to haul a car trailer with one car, 5,000 lbs capacity should be enough. That at least saves you from buying the trailer and storing it somewhere, and would be a good excuse to buy a beater truck. Or you could trade the GC for a Cayenne, I think they are tow rated for 7000+.

1) Buy 3/4 diesel truck 2) Buy trailer 3) pick up to your hearts content
But $1.50 a mile (your current effective rate) is really pretty cheap and hard to beat for a reliable guy
