Went to Hong Kong a few weeks ago and one of the waiters at a restaurant, a really cool guy, was named Ohno Cheng. And yes, you pronounce his name as o no.

Not that funny, but I had a message to phone Sue Glue. When I apprehensively called the number and explained I had a message to call Sue Glue, a woman said "Yeah that's me I married the wrong guy."

There was a young man on the USS Ingraham with me when I was in the Navy. His name was Jay Sample. Poor kid worked in deck department, which is populated by Seaman. He was in my watch section, and it gave me no end of pleasure to say "Seaman Sample" over the 1MC (PA System) while standing quarterdeck watches.

Here's a news article about him, he never grew up.

When I worked at Solar Turbines, we had a woman in the finance department named:

Helen Fry

So yeah, if you needed help from finance, you could go to Helen Fry.

Amused me to no end...

Let us not forget Governor Hogg of Texas from the late 1890's. He named his daughter "Ima".

Ima Hogg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

She became quite accomplished. Her family was instrumental in creating "River Oaks", which is still "the" neighborhood in Houston, and probably all of Texas.

I know the last name is problematic at best, but his Mom and Dad had to be sadists: I had a flight instructor named Richard Dick.

I have an aunt named Kathy. She married Ken and they have 3 children. Kelly, Krista and Kody.

And I have a sister named Debra that married Dan. Their kids are Danika, Devin and Derek.

Then my other sister is Terri. She married... Jerry. No kids.

I've purposely avoided women with names beginning with D. However, I did go out with a woman named Dawn a couple times.
