Google Glass: Cool or Creepy?

I did the "tour" at Saint Arnolds today. One of the guys in line was wearing Google glass. It seems creepy to me.

I'm holding out for Google Contacts and a Verizon Tooth Filling...and yet Starbucks keeps burning the coffee....amazing, simply amazing. Where the heck are our priorities?

Creepy until it becomes the norm.

You'll see increased prevalence of augmented reality solutions for the common man. Much to our detriment imho and I work in the field. The genie is out of the bottle.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way!

You guys sound like a bunch of grumpy old men who are disgusted by "these young people and their long hair and rock and roll". Really?

I attended a futurist conference recently. One of the sessions had two speakers, an anthropologist and a sociologist. Their research was very interesting. Their hypothosis is that as technology advances, humans become dependent. If one of us, including all of you, were to step into a time machine and go back a 100 years, we would have a very slim chance of survival. Seems we have evolved to depend on technology in ways we don't even understand.

Suck it up and welcome to the future!

"I like Google Glass because I can walk down the street and it's facial recogition will bring up the profile of every person in front of me. This helps the government catch the terrorists or just question those 'people who don't belong there'. It also helps banks identify who is shopping for what and whether they pay cash. I know I'm doing my part for the continuem.

Plus, there are tons of apps for it:
1). MyBusinessPartner app lets me identify people who work in the same field and who they work for. That's nice to have when there is a competitor at a trade show, or one talking to my potential client at a resteraunt. I can have a friend go spill a drink on him or spike his drink or something, and ruin his day.

2). MyXRay app lets me simply look at chicks on the street and it turns their clothing invisible. This is pretty cool because it has integrated TSA data for authenticity.

3). MyIncomeLevel app lets me identify poor people who I don't need to talk to, so I can just tell those pennyless bohemians to immediately bugger off. It's good for meeting girls as well, because the app pops up their bank balance and whether they might be willing to turn a trick with their girlfriend. I can look up their relationship status, spending habits, medical records, and how they spend personal time before I spend a single second trying to get them in the sack.

4). MyPrivacy app is a bit more expensive, but it makes me invisible to those with GGlasses below my status, or gives them fake information. I have all the power.

It's just like living in a 24/7 Facebook agumented-reality-world.
Except other people don't even know they are participating LOL.

Creepy.

Sometime in the next few years "privacy" is going to become fashionable again, except it will be to late.

This is why I rarely post in PARF anymore. Doesn't help that of late there have been 10 or 12 threads with the same topic.

As soon as someone starts a website offering bounties for photos of Google Glass users with blackened eyes, all of this will wither and die.

I can't wait to see someone wearing a pair, so I can run up, shout "Safesearch off, google diarrhea" and see if it works.

I'm trying to find where you find any correlation at all between 'posting in PARF' and Google Glass.
