Sometimes they answer but no one calls back

Have you noticed the lack of phones being answered by a person? No, I mean after you've gone through the menu and placed your bet. Yesterday was a good day, half of those contacted called me back.

One call I made earlier in the week was to Pelican. I did buy some things from my favorite sales guy, Glenn. Of course I've known Glenn from my 914 days before he came to Pelican. I couldn't find a tool I was looking for and he didn't know about it. I called CS and they gave me someone with another recording. Never heard back.

Even Pelican has fallen into the ranks of people that just don't call back. What do you do, just keep calling them? What is it with people?

Some of the others I have called this week and didn't call back:
A lighting company that sells supplies.
Medical billing company (you know that saga)
2 customers that had questions I needed to get answers for and when I called, I get a recording. No call back. Why do I bother to look for the answer?
A door supplier, left specs for a price, no call back.

Oh, and if you ask if I try email, that's my preferred way to communicate. In these instances I didn't have the email addy. I maybe could have tried the Pelican guy on email but I don't remember his name.

Hey Zeke
Some of of your experiences I've also had occasion to suffer through. I chalk a few of them up to a lack of old-fashioned 'good manners' which seem to be fading fast in today's somewhat & sometimes unnecessary frenzied pace in nearly every facet of life.
Cheers
JB

Had the same experience with a plumbing supply store. I was trying to order parts and they couldn't find the part in their system at the time. They took my info, then no call back.

I amself employed and must work from an answering machine to ever have time to generate revenue, People leave long messages and them dont leave a number or say it rapidly in an undeciferable mumble also get people leaving numbers that they cannot be reached at. I leave my cell number on my machine and answer unless driving or talking to a customer in person.

Easy and quick way to learn who your friends are. If I leave message and the don't return my call they're off the ****ing list!

I have the same problem, but this thread is not about that. And any business that doesn't have caller ID is not really up to speed. Now if the caller is private and can't speak their # well enough, see my next reply.

I always figure that a business too busy to call back obviously doesn't need my money.

I recently had to order 2 hoses for the generator on my Featherlite transporter
It's a 20 kv Kohler with a yanmar 4 cyl turbo diesel
I'm not exaggerating it took 3.5 hours on the phone to find a human with a brain
The ******* hoses cost $28 for both They're made by Gates I just needed the number
There are no parts people left in this country
Companies have decided after sales service isn't worth their time
