I guess I'm completely shocked that the kids would admit to doing for no good reason whatsoever. It blows my mind that they thought "hey, lets kill that guy" and think they wouldn't go to jail for it. Maybe they thought it was so random that if no one saw them, they might get away with it?

I am waiting before declaring this a racial hate crime. Until evidence shows these boys were out to kill a non-black person, specifically for being non-black, it will remain an unspecified hate crime in my mind. They hated all right. They hated everything.

I really doubt if anything regarding punishment enters the mind of a killer when he's about to kill. Maybe after he's killed someone.
