Advice needed
Going to New York and New Jersey at the end of the month and we are going to rent a car. The question is, should I purchase the rental car companies insurance?
I have triple A and I know I get rental car coverage but I heard somewhere that it was less hassle if you have the optional insurance . Thanks in advance. |

You might have some rental car coverage with your credit card.
That being said I have purchased the rental car insurance in addition. A few more bucks for my piece mine. |

Make sure you fully understand your coverage before you decline rental insurance.

Make sure you have enough insurance - damage and liability. It is not worth going cheap on insurance just to save a few $$$$. I know the rental car insurance seems high. I used to use credit card insurance coverage but because of my age it is no longer covering insurance.

Just be aware that your insurance, be it AAA or the credit card type, may not include the rental company's loss of rental income (which is addressed in the rental contract) while the vehicle is out of service.
