Ha, I got a NAD amp a week or two ago from the dump shop. It goes perfectly well with the Mission speakers I got from the dump shop the week before. I really like the NAD amp. Great sound and nicely uncomplicated.

I'll bet those vintage Empi bolt on engine parts are worth more than the Sterling; (the crank degree wheel, the oil filter adapter and the sump extender.)

(And you're owed a roof and the hydraulic roof lifters!)

The sump below the block looks like an accident waiting to happen.

I want to use the engine in my buggy, and will decide on the rest later. But Speed Racers "Mach 5" popped in my head, or I could do this.

You're gonna make me start hitting the alleys again. We have a neighborhood wide yard sale every year in May so I'm collecting stuff. It doesn't matter if I sell 10 POS's for a buck each, that's ten bucks. Usually do $300+ in cast offs.

Butcher block top

My wife has finally given up quilting on her quilt frame and says it doesn't work any more. She can do quilting on one of her sewing machines and can/has done a quilt that she says is the largest size she'd make. So my job is to take the quilt frame and modify it to become a sewing table she can use while in the room with the quilt wall. This will enable her to sew small pieces together without loosing the 'pattern' determined on the quilt wall.
Today I scored a table with a butcher block top that will be adapted to the modified quilt frame for the small sewing table.

$50 for the table with four chairs which will probably become curb fare for the neighborhood sooner than later.
I was going to make my own butcher block top, but I couldn't buy the wood for one big enough for $50.

I had been planning a low retaining wall (less than a foot high) and didn't want to use random stone. Yesterday I glanced at our local trader mag and found a neighbor up the road had replaced a chimney and wanted to sell the materials from the old one.
$100 for about a ton of bricks and masonry. The granddaughter helped load and unload. Good thing. I had covid last week. Still feeling it.

Best
Les

Take it easy on yourself, Les. It took me about a month to get over covid.

I am thinking of making some speaker changes, do you have any knowledge of Tannoy speakers? I have some old Yamaha stuff and looking to maybe make some changes. Any recomendations?

Hey Les......I've never had covid but would recommend you take Bill's advice and take it easy, brother.

Nice score on the wall materials!

A month? It took me almost a year to really recover. I still have long covid symptoms.

Les, if you were here, I'd tell you to have someone come and pickup all my split face blocks. Never used and I have hundreds of them!

Prices on old electronics have started to rise, the real vintage stuff-Sansui, Marantz, etc in wood cabs have gotten high. My go to's for non-exotic electronics have always been NAD from the 90's or Adcom (the 555 is legendary and arond 350-450 used). Everything that old is subject to some issues these days, but aside from sticky output relay protection the NAD's seem bulletproof and the Adcoms hold up very well.

Tannoy are typically british speakers. Very clean and neutral, and pretty open sounding for a standard box design. The company has recently gone thru a "revival" and is producing some top notch stuff at prices to match...
