I bought a large box of family photos at an estate sale a few weeks back for $10. Included were about 150 photos of the Korean War. The guy was in a tank unit and at Heart Break Ridge and the Punch Bowl. I've already sold these for $150. Also in the box was an album of a trip in the 1950s on the Queen Mary. In the bottom of the box was an old wax envelope with 2 14K gold rings! I know nothing about gold/jewelry but they look old.

I bought a tool box at a yard sale for $5 and it was filled with all of these Snap On socket trays. It also had about 10 more socket trays that are called Mechanics Time Savers.

I sold all of the Snap On trays on eBay for about $150. I haven't posted the Mechanics Time Saver trays yet, but they are going for almost as much as the Snap On brand!

Bought a box of porsche stuff at an estate sale a couple months back. I had gone through the box several times but missed a small envelop and couple other items that had been tucked in books and magazines. However the little envelope had a couple very cool dash plaques from the mid 70s.

Yesterday moving sale score:

69 Simpson hurricane clips. Retail for $.58 each at Lowe's. I bought them for $5. The guy selling didn't know what they were for. I need them for my garage addition.

Yesterday's estate sale score:

Commercial quality 4 quart aluminum sauce pan and lid. Everything was 1/2 price on Saturday. I paid $4.00. I plan using it for camping.

My best scores lately have been on the sales side. I had a set of cabinets that were nice but in the way and destined for the burn pile, but before taking them for that last ride I took a pic and threw them up on Craig's list. Sold the for $150. Sold a wool rug that was scheduled for the dump for $100. Anymore, any time I come up with something that needs to go the the dump I put it on Craig's list for free and someone picks it up. There was a pallet of bricks sitting in my way. I listed it on CR for a dollar and they were out of my way in a few hours. I think of it as free labor.

Bought this Nikon Coolpix P530 at a yard sale this weekend. Paid $1! The lady wasn't sure if it still worked. I bought a charger and 2 batteries for $12 from Amazon and it booted right up. Oh, and it still had the 64gb SD card in there.

[QUOTE=peteremsley;10032380]what does one do with a gear drive reduction thing?[/QUOTE
Reduce an electric motor from 1125, 1725, 3500 RPM's
Conveyors , machinery and such, depending on the output ratio. Looks to be a C-face input. $16 quite a bargain

How are you going to find someone that needs it?

Advertise it on Ebay commercial and industrial, after you get the specs off of it. A lot of industrial buyers search for such things

Here is one the same model as the one I bought. Several of these on eBay. The one I got would be considered NOS (new - old stock)

Dodge Gear Reducer

Hey! I wish you would post up some more of your treasures. You always find the most interesting things - artwork, cutlery, cookware, shoes, jeans...

One more from the on-line auction. I don't know what this thing is, but I knew I needed it! Paid $110 for it. It has something to do with tracing wires.
