Picked up these two Dewalt sheet metal nibblers at a yard sale. Paid $7 for the pair. They are interesting in that they’re 220 volt. They’re crazy expensive if you buy them new - like $750!

I cleaned them up with a wire brush and oiled them. Not as pretty as new but they look much better. A 4", 6" and a 8". The pliers were 10" long.

Soak the clamps in Evapo-Rust and they will look nearly new.

You better rewire those nibblers.

Thanks Mike I'll give that a try.

On NextDoor, for our neighborhood, the free stuff actually has some quality stuff listed. And quite a bit of it too. Wish I had a truck for some of the larger items.

Check it out.

I drove deep into the woods of south Texas and found this Wilton bullet vise. Got it for $60. First time I’ve ever seen one in the wild.

Lucky find that cheap! I'd restore it to Wilton grey/green if it were mine...

porsche930dude 06-30-2021 01:05 PM

Nice! They say Wiltons are the only tool that gets cheaper when snap-on puts their name on it.

cmccuist 06-30-2021 01:17 PM

I already ordered some Rustoleum Verde Green Hammered Metallic paint. Apparently, that's the go to color for Wiltons. The only place I could find it was Menards. Rustoleum doesn't make it anymore.

They have the 20 amp plugs with the one horizontal and one vertical prong. What do you recommend?

1990C4S 07-01-2021 04:27 AM

Those male plugs are available at Home Depot. I out one on my table saw.

I usually grab some wire from a 'roadside' vacuum or other tool. It's nice to have a 25' cord.

cmccuist 07-01-2021 04:48 AM

Thanks C4S! Yea, a long cord is better for 220 as outlets are not readily available everywhere.

A guy i know that gives me scrap sometimes gave me this maytag washer only 2 years old only used a handfull of times. The inlet filters got clogged and they bought a new one before they found the problem. Also found a bmx bike at the curb its just a walmart bike but still decent with a little tuning worth about 50.

As far as I'm concerned, this is a score. It would cost me $35 to take this pile of scrap to the dump. I took a picture and put it on Craigs List and it was gone in an hour. I had one joker who said the would take the copper and brass (and leave the steel for me to pay $35 to get rid of at the dump). But within an hour I had a serious "buyer" who took it all away.

Nice score, Paul. Those come in real handy!

I have a wooden one and the seat came loose - haven't had time to repair it but when I do I know I can use it.

I bought a little plastic chair that does the same thing from a guy I was buying some shelving from, so I have that as well.

Kinda like this one:

The string bikini I ordered finally arrived yesterday and today was the day for fitting. I think it worked out great!

Still much to do but taking it one step at a time.

At least she's no longer naked!

PS - That's her girlfriend still unpacked and in the box behind her. Once I get her up and running....it's on! :p

URY914 07-15-2021 11:05 AM

Does she have a name?

1990C4S 07-15-2021 11:05 AM

Not the least bit creepy. Not at all....
