Did the kootenay pass a few days ago and that was a lot of climbing! So far about 2500 km towing and averaging about 14 mpg. Unloaded on the highway it’s best mileage was almost 25 mpg! |
Found a dryer on the curb on my way home today. Got some funny looks but what else is new. Perfect fit on the rack. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1626742859.JPG

$20cdn on Facebook marketplace. I think that's about $3 US The ad said something was wrong with the starter....... I put gas in it, and it started right up. I'm not joking. I cut the grass for a bit, adjusting the wheel height, and eventually it started to sputter, and died with a stream of gasoline across my yard. The carburetor bowl bolt was loose. Tightened it, refilled it with gas (free from recycle depot no less) and it runs like new with no leaks. It was manufactured in 2018. This is the newest mower I've ever used. :) |
Got this Bobcat earlier this month. I've been making modifications and will post the "after" shots later this week.

Freebie left at curb. Bottom is de-laminated. Might make a decent yard decoration (?)

Stopped by a friend's pup the other day and the bartender told me that there was a bicycle that he's been there for 3 months. Nothing special, a cable lock. I figured I can clean it up and give it away, so picked up a new blade for the Dewalt, and charged the batteries and boom.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1627755976.jpg

Couldn't resist. Has heat, so I hope it snows this winter.

Today's score......
SEVEN 4'x8' sheets of 7/16" OSB panels - in perfect condition - set out by the curb at my neighbor's 2 doors down. It's obvious from the writing on each panel she used these to cover her doors and windows during hurricane situations. She must have upgraded to a different system and had no further need for these. I will use these when I enclose my 12'x30' storage structure in my side yard, which currently only has a Galvalume roof. The current going rate at HD for these panels are ~$28/each. These will be sufficient to enclose one entire side! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1628357071.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1628357071.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1628357071.JPG |
I pity the suckers buying the hurricane proof windows
sure it takes a few hits to break the glass out and they stand up to the wind fine until they do NOT from the stuff in the wind hitting it well strand board is better then nothing , ,slightly until it gets wet I have steel |
Estate Sale This Weekend. Bought two custom made sofas.
Bought the first couch on Thursday and paid their full asking price ($700). Went back today and bought the 2nd couch at half price. Now I have to buy new end tables and lamps to make it all fit. Pictures don't show the color well; they are a greenish gold. My old couch & love seat are getting worn out but I hope to sell them on CraigsList for about $600 - listing tonight. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1628393514.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1628393531.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1628393551.jpg |
Pretty sweet score for $350... Any bets on how long it will be until I'm posting in the what are you fixing today thread?
