What you just picked up is what I was looking for. I have a 10 drawer Craftsman top box. It'll go on the Snap-On no problem but, darn it,,,,, It won't match! ![]()

Found this trek 3700 on the roadside. It took a bit of fiddling with stuck cables and flat tire but cleaned up well enough. Good spare for the other 3700 i also found on the curb.

+1 - I think I'd call local police and see if it has been reported as stolen. Why would someone just leave that bike sitting on the side of the road otherwise?

I found that same bike on a free pile last summer (COVID LOCKDOWN!) It needed maintenance, brakes, chain, some of the bearings. I did all I could do to make it a go-er without spending any money on it, then I took it across the street to the kids park with a sign that said "Free".
I'm 100 percent sure it went to a worthy home.

More curb freebies.....closet doors with nice functioning hardware and 3 porch lamps all in working condition. I have converted all of mine to LED here so not sure what I will do with these yet.

Those Coach Lights.
Hit em real quick with a wire brush then use Rustoleum Hammered on them. They come out looking as good as new and the Rustoleum holds up way better, like years longer, than the factory coating.

Snagged a wheelbarrow and two coolers from the curb last night. The wheel nation has a steel frame and a solid rubber tire, just needed oil in the bearings.
The two coolers are cheap Coleman’s, but I needed one to butcher for a fog chiller for Halloween, and the other will be good for hauling back crawfish from the lakes! ![]() |

Takes 5 minutes. Tape sloppy and trim back with an xacto. Here is one I did 6-7 years ago. Lasted twice as long as the factory finish so far. Actually have as a fall project to redo all the coach lights on the house. Going for maybe a darker shade this time. ![]()

Are you using LED bulbs in yours or sticking with the filaments? I think you're right about going a little bit darker.

Wowza~~~!!!!
$100 Canon 50D body, three batteries, continuous power supply battery input, charger, remote firing cord. The 50D body is a cropped frame sensor which accepts L lenses and will work on my dental microscope at work. Full frame sensors are too much for the scope, and 15 megapixels is more than enough for day to day use without clogging up the server. Mounted to my microscope, it can run all day on the power supply, and provide hdmi to video monitors. Also perfect for my daughter. ![]() Last edited by LEAKYSEALS951; 09-29-2021 at 04:18 PM.. |

Ironic that the photo of your new camera is blurry.

Posted this in another thread but it might belong here:
I have a couple of oil paintings by Victor Czerkas. I got them from a prop house that didn't want to hassle with getting "clearance" on them to use in film and TV (filming the art hanging on the wall is considered "duplication"). Here's his Bio: "Victor J. Czerkas (1914-2003) Born: Sioux City, Iowa; Studied: Chouinard Art Institute; Member: San Gabriel Art Association. Victor Czerkas grew up in Iowa and there learned the sign-painting trade. In the 1930s he moved to Southern California where he worked as a sign painter and freelance commercial artist. By the 1950s he was employed by Universal Studios as a lettering artist, producing hand-lettered titles for major motion picture releases. In later years he did similar work for ABC Television programs. Throughout his life Czerkas also produced fine art watercolors and oil paintings. He studied art in the 1930s then continued his art education with private painting lessons from Nicolai Fechin. Most of his early paintings depict regional California cityscape and landscape views. These were often produced outdoors on location while viewing the subjects. After 1978 he also produced works depicting subjects he found while traveling in Europe, Russia, India, as well as areas in the Caribbean and Orient." Anyway, I had seen one of his works on Etsy for $850 which wasn't too bad of a price. I hesitated and a few days later I came across another sale site called "Mercari" and the same seller had the piece on there for $450 so I snapped it up. Here's a link to an Ebay auction for one of his pieces: The woman who was selling my piece didn't know what it was and titled it "Bunker Hill" which was a watercolor he did of Los Angeles. Mine is another oil of the "Taos Pueblo". I think I got a good deal. ![]()

Very cool, Craigster. I'm a very casual fan of art, so always interested in learning something new.
I'm sure you know who Olaf Wieghorst is. I purchased a nice book of his artwork and his pieces are well regarded as well on eBay: The title sequence of "El Dorado" features much of his work:
