^ I hate you.
(JK, great scores, your lucky day!). Does the swivel base fit the vise? looks like it lines up. I'd love a Kurt, but I never see deals like that. The tool post and holders. sheesh. And I'll bet you can use the drill bit grinder to grind cutting tools? |
^^^I agree, that was a nice 'get' even missing out on the one sharpener.
Are you a machinist or just collecting tools? |
I'm recently retired, so always on the lookout for machinist tools. I have a Wells Index mill and a Monarch 10ee lathe. The mill came with a 6" Kurt and swivel base. The Monarch has an import quick change tool post holder which is fine for what I'm doing (restoring an '82 930). So I'll be flipping things. The swivel base doesn't say Kurt on it anywhere, but it does say D60 and fits the vise perfectly.
The Darex I ended up with had some coarse grinding wheels installed, but the one that was stolen from me had a nice diamond wheel. I may never get over that. I think you can grind end mills with that, but I need to read up some. |
50$ Blast Cabinet
Paid $50 Craigslist- Blast cabinet with working lights and fan! Probably will replace the media hose on the inside, and will find a glass piece to seal the top.
And it’s signal orange!!! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1657471528.jpg |
Nice score and will come in handy!

That's a great kit, the dies and chasers last for ages. A good buy for sure!

Picked up this Graflex Century Graphic at an Estate sale.
Came with all the accessories. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1657936859.jpg It takes great pictures. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1657936859.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1657936859.JPG |
Not a yard sale or Craigslist, but the Goodwill store. Still a score.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1658255953.jpg It seems a common problem with these is the wiring crimp on the flow sensor. The factory process doesn't seem to provide adequate force to cut through the insulation and make proper contact. This machine had that issue, so I suspect it hadn't been used as it wouldn't heat the water properly or make a full cup. Basically, the control thought there wasn't enough water and shut it off. Less than ten minutes with a screwdriver, multimeter, and a pair of needle-nose pliers and it's perfect. 98% off the new price. |
Couple of pickups from the weekend:
Craftsman 1 HP block grinder - $50 Fluke 787 multimeter - $10 Dewalt drill and two impacts - $10 each Ridgid 2’ and 3’ aluminum pipe wrenches - $10 each http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1658701713.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1658701766.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1658701817.jpg |

^^^ NICE scores to ALL above! ^^^ SmileWavy
Curbside freebies this morning in my Mom's neighborhood....... 5 quart storage containers plus a larger low profile one - no lids - but that's OK. I think I have some extra lids and even without lids these come in handy. Also a sling chair - the sling in perfect condition! A little corrosion on the frame but not bad. The red cushions were some Mom wanted to throw out so I snagged them. Also the Sutro Kokoro Oakley's I bought that were half off - $99. They have vent holes along the top that help with air circulation plus I like the color scheme. :) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1658865103.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1658865103.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1658865103.JPG |

You should go knock on the door and ask them if they have the table leaf.
Do all those casters still work? That is some cool hardware. |

Will get those hinge pics tomorrow.
But first.....this morning in my Mom's neighborhood sitting curbside this La-z-boy plus a wood garage cabinet - the tall kind with double doors. I didn't have room for the cabinet without a lot of work moving stuff around. I was just dropping something off to Mom before heading to two of my accounts. So I left the cabinet behind. :( Then across from my Mom's the new neighbor was throwing out two perfectly good sliding screen doors, so I nabbed those too. I just lugged the chair up and into my living room. Gave it a good wipe down with 409. Not very dirty at all. There is one broken spring underneath I intend to repair. Otherwise she works great. It's a rocker-recliner. It's funny too because I've been wanting to get one of these - some may remember my recliner thread. Then poof.....there it sat this morning just waiting for me.... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1659748776.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1659748776.JPG |
$50 worth of cast iron skillets I gambled on form Fb marketplace. Got lucky and there were a few vintage 3 notch Lodges, a Wagner, and a Griswold! They were all pretty crusty, but after a lye soak and fresh seasoning they look great!
