Yup, roller blade wheels. Set of 5 from Amazon was less than $20.

I have those in my office chair. If I even come close to it, it rolls away on the concrete floor.

No bearing buddies - I don't think I'll need them on this unit. I have always used them on my boat trailer though.

The chair casters work great on my deck but appreciate the head's up on those nice rubber ones. I'll keep it in mind. These are old school chairs and I can't help but think along with that is old school design, materials, and build quality. Those cushions for example are secured by straps that snap into place. Easy to remove for cleaning.

Back to the trailer.....I brought the seller 3 nice Bromeliads as a gesture of appreciation for helping make the deal go so well. I didn't see the ad until after 10:30pm last night but went ahead and shot off an email indicating my interest. He sent a reply about a half hour later and then we spoke on the phone a little while later and agreed on meeting this morning to do the deal. He said he had another person from Orlando interested but for some reason got a good vibe off my inquiry so trusted his gut feeling. The listing was 3 weeks old so I wasn't sure where I stood until I got his reply. He said it was originally listed at $1,400 and he decided to drop it down to $1,200. I've been looking at utility trailers for quite a while and the fact that this one was all aluminum and custom built locally really appealed to me. Located between the river and ocean corrosion is a real PITA for anything left outside.

Tomorrow I'm gonna call the company that built it and try and find out what a new one like that would cost, just out of curiosity. I'm thinking it had to be between $1,500-$2K. I'll report back.

I contacted the trailer company and was told new the one I bought would be $1,995 plus tax, so $2,125, which is about $925 more than what I paid, so I feel good about the deal.

The neighbor was redoing the bathroom, offered up this custom cherry vanity that was headed to 'parts unknown' (ie the dump).
You could literally park a VW bug on this, it's built so stout (3/4" cherry plywood and solid cherry framing)

I cut it down to a little wider than half of original size, painted it in my 'official garage colors" (Craftsman tool cabinet grey and red, ha ha) and put it in the corner as a drill press stand. (I decided against using one of the doors but I can always make that mod if dust and dirt become a problem inside the carcass. I figured an open front would be more convenient. Time will tell.)

It took an effort to decide to paint over the cherry wood, but I finally relented, told myself that it would have just ended up in the landfill if I hadn't of repurposed it.

Thanks, Baz. After I posted, I realized I'd made a mistake and reinstalled the front face upside down, but it's a happy mistake because the junk I throw into the hole can be piled higher before it starts to fall on the floor. Win - Win!

Your brain knew what it was doing - it just didn't tell you about it until later! :)

It's nice to get machinery up high and eye-level where you can operate it. Some of the stuff I've 'rescued' is being used for just that.
