Yep - we had one like that too in the 60's and I also remember those being used at the Navy bases......great score JC!

Thanks.
It works better than any of the modern plastic fans I have. |

Another score from my Mom's neighborhood this morning. I think it's a piano bench. In pretty good shape - hinges work very well.
Might use on one of my covered decks as a place to sit and to store magazines in. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1663691779.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1663691779.JPG |
Yard sale find. Don't need this but I can find uses for it - an older Park Tools bike repair stand for ten bucks. Needs a good clean and lube but it's like new and it came with a bunch of lubes and greases in a tool box.

We just bought a working Chambers stove, model BZ (1948). We paid towards the higher end, but then we got a 75 year old stove that has no dings, chipped enamel, etc..., and when they unplugged it 2 months ago, it was working. Most of the stuff that you find that's cheaper is dented, dinged, chipped, and has pitted, rusted-through chrome. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1664826611.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1664826611.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1664826611.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1664826611.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1664826611.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1664826611.jpg |

Scored these dreamers from a garage sale for 5$ each. It was an old couple pretty much all they had was their kids old board games and these. All of it was from the 70s they said they never had a sale before. I dont know the brand of the yellow one the head badge and chain guard are gone. I already got the red one cleaned up a bit and working . The yellow one i think im going to leave as it is but the crank is bent and has odd pedals so ill work on that. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1664834771.JPG

One person's trash...another's treasure. Isn't that the ultimate recycling? Here's a fun video...a youngster repairing a free rollaway combo. Probably his first...good job, kid. Hope it lasts him a lifetime. (edit) Kinda wish somebody had shown him the trick to removing the drawers. Pretty simple...slide in an old hacksaw blade to push in a tab.

Professionals in my neighborhood can’t be bothered to fix things - it’s a throwaway society. I got this power washer off the curb on trash day, checked it over, determined that it was overfilled with oil, drained and refilled with new oil to proper level, and it started on the third pull! Sold it today on CL for $120. Third power washer I harvested in the last year. The others were a Simpson 3000 psi with Honda GCV engine and a J D 3300 psi unit. Replaced the carbs on those and they’re good as new. Just amazed at what gets thrown out these days...
