Craigslist and Garage sale scores!

Been looking for a solid jumping Jack and or vibraplate soil compactor.

Late last-night I caught a fresh posting on FBMP for a MIKASA with 200 hours on the clock. Picked it up on the way to work for $800.00. Will be using this for the big block project and they rent for $150.00 a day locallyhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...be46c2c7d2.jpg

Craigslist and Garage sale scores!

Second FBMP score today. Now I can return the one I borrowed three weeks ago. Same make and is a heck of a workhorse and in great shape. Another nice little addition to construction equipment Monday. Since the property seems to grow rocks, it will be used a lot during this block project. Picked up for $350.00 and now plumb out of excuses to not start working on the “decorative garden walls” per the city……[emoji849]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...9dd0a75b93.jpg

Great scores there, Trev! Nothing like owning a tool vs. renting. Although there are exceptions. Like when I used to rent a sod cutter. Easily include the rental cost into the job and not have the headaches of ownership.

They still call those chipping hammers? We sold those when I worked at a local equipment rental company. Very popular!

Today I received two cases of GatorLyte, a product I haven't tried before. My doctor recommended it to me over other sports type drinks. So far so good. Got mine on Amazon.

We almost hit 90 today. Got 4 more months of it. Stay hydrated! ;)

Ha - thanks, Byron. But I'm more of a wagon man when it comes to Volvos. Those P1800's are very cool cars though for sure!

That was car #2 I wanted as a kid while roaming the streets in the wee hours delivering papers. #1 was a Triumph TR6 in British racing green.

Thanks Baz!!

I’m sure that is still what they are called. I’ve heard “demolition hammers” too. Either way, they are dang handy tools to have. We have this stuff they call “Placerite”, it lurks below the top several inches of soil and is bloody harder than concrete. I’m sure some geologist will be able to tell me what the scientific name is. All I know it is a nightmare to chip into. Years ago, they guy helping me install a 12” steel corrugated pipe cracked the boom on the backhoe while using the monster chipping attachment.

Remember, stay calm and hydrate on. Keep those fluids going in while working in the high humid temps. Heat exhaustion/stroke is no fun.

Probably originally for IBM punchcards; Built like a battleship (weighs well over 100 lbs according to my internal scale) and all the drawers work great and have full extension. Free is a good price but I might give it a good wirewheel and a rattlecan and make it nicer before I fill it up with crap. So, what's my labor worth for a project I didn't have before?

Nice score H. Oberst!

Got a similar product myself back in 2017.

Same weight as yours - Iowa class battleship! :D

Mine was being used to house all kinds of fasteners, so I got all those as well. I think I paid around $20.

It sat on a little frame made of 2x4's....just to keep it off the floor.

Have fun with your rattlecan! SmileWavy
