With all the new motorcycle parts - I decided I needed more shelving.

HD has them - but let's check CL first.

A ha......

Quote:
Two available @$50 each

36" wide 24" deep and 73" tall.
The same shelving from HD is $89 plus tax.

So I saved $89.57!

Very clean - all there - in good condition. The kicker is the seller is the same guy I bought a Craftsman tool box from a year or two back. We met at the same shopping center tonight...ha ha. As soon as I saw him I knew it was him too!

^ good value shelves! We've got about 8 or so of them in the basement where we store "stuff" we can't live without. Things like old photo albums, kids toys, etc.

About a month ago, I paid $29 including shipping for this "Kröplin schnelltaster". I think I paid $15-17 for the item itself. Best guess is that this is from the 50s or 60s, although I'm sure it's possible that it's from the 70s.

It's got ~175mm throat and measures 0-50mm in 0.1mm increments. The tips are small and round so it'll measure down into smallish grooves/undulations. It's the perfect tool for checking the thickness of brake rotors which I did the other day.

The company is still in business. There's not this exact version available today, but the closest current version seems to be going for ~£500.

Got another Snapper Comet off FB Marketplace . Second in 2 weeks. First, I fixed a tire and gave to my neighbor. The second, I put a new $20 carb on it and sold the motor for $120. Got the remains for sale on Marketplace for $80. Will see how that works out. Not sure how many of these Forest Gump mowers Ive had over the years but I mow my own yard with one every 5 days.

I did not need these but like a magpie and shiny objects, I couldn't stop myself.

Electric 1/2" rattle gun; 2 pneu 3/8' air wrenches; misc. bike sht. Everything is complete and working.

Free piles are every where here.
A while ago I got a 100 foot extension cord. It was cut about 1 foot from one end, (mower? hedge trimmer?) but a new end and I've got 90 feet for free.

Only 20 amp, but....it works for many things.

I’m going to be replacing the engine in my F150 soon and my thought was to buy some shelving like you did. I’m keeping an eye on FBMP and craigslist, but if push comes to shove, Lowe’s has the shelves for $60 that I’ll use to stack parts on in the garage as I take them off.

Then sell them when I’m done.

Nice!

I just grabbed some from Walmart....$39.68:

Hyper Tough Black 5-Tier Plastic 68" H x 30" W x 13.8"D, 350lb Total Capacity

Smaller than yours, but for my needs (motorcycle parts in 13.5" long containers) they will work fine.

Update on these shelves. The tubes don't fit - diameter too big! Might be able to hammer them in but I'm just going to take them back for a refund.

I went to HD earlier this week and bought 4 sets of their HDX line. Wasn't cheap ($241 plus tax) but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and get on with it.

Here is one set I already erected. Already loaded with motorcycle parts. Most still have to be sorted so looks a bit cluttered. All of these will be going into bins except some of the big items which will remain bagged and just stacked there.

I already have several other sets of shelves filled with parts - it's pretty crazy.

=========

Also, got these in the mail today from eBay for less than $25. 10 matching cylindrical storage unit locks! Only came with one key so I ordered 6 more directly from the supplier for an additional $20. There's ony 9 locks in the photo because i already used one this afternoon just to test it out.

The first time I went by, there were easily twice as many suitcases in this free pile, but I didn't have my phone with me.
Not as impressive with only four or five, but I still went ahead and snapped a photo.

Looks like someone is done with all that travel.

I bought the bottom toolbox about five years ago for the same price. Put a white oak top on it and I have a grinder on top of it. Otherwise, I’d be tempted to buy the top box too.
