Scored a nearly new $500 water softener for $40 on Facebook marketplace. Have found several good deals lately but you have to jump on them fast!

We have a buy nothing board for my quadrant of the neighborhood. Sometimes really good stuff pops up, its a fairly high end rock polisher. My son has been asking for one for quite a while so kind of a fun score.

I had a smaller size rock polisher when I was a youngster. I was too impatient and jumped grits too quick - so the end product was never as shiny as it should be. Patience is the key.

So, my daughter calls me, and says, load up the trailer behind the truck, and get up to a Swanton Ohio church before 6:00 pm yesterday. The local pastor was there, and wanted all of them gone, so we were given 14 oak church pews, that are 15' long, and have nice cushions, with the hymnal pockets, and communion cup holders from a church that was going to individual folding chairs.

This will be ideal for her outdoor wedding next month, and then a bit of money afterwards when we sell them off...$100 each ?

Looks like a no-brand Chinese engine. Probably a bargain for free, but not something I’d spend money on.

Nice! I got a lead on tables for scrap from a church closeby. They were regular 8' folding tables got ten of them. Heavy suckers. Sold them for $150. they were going to use them for a wedding aswell.

I always grab those rock tumblers when i see them at garage sales and flea markets. They sell well.

Party rentals is a tough game. You need storage until your items are rentable.

My aunt used t cherry pick chairs out of municipal auction lots. She found her share of Italian designer chairs that were worth real good money. Typical lot would sell for 3 bucks a chair. She turned around and sold them to a rental guy on the spot for 2 bucks each and took her 'finds' home.

I heard the guy had lots and lots of chairs and could actually rent them out theme by theme or a mix of this and that. He must have had a pretty good sized storage situation. Chair rental rates go from a buck to 3 bucks depending on the comfort and how many. The dude recovered his investment quickly. I've always considered this business model the same as a moving company. You just move your own siht and get paid.

The church pews are currently taking up one stall in my garage, and have blocked walking around my car. I will be happy when they can be sold in October. At about 250# each, it takes 2 men to move.

I bought commercial grade scales. They go up to 30kg and accurate to one gram. I wanted them for weighing the cats and dogs, for monitoring health and their over eating maybe. Also GF got stung at the airport for having slightly overweight carry on luggage - cost her $60.

I bought the scales for $3 in non working order. I followed the current (lack of current) around, then replaced the off/on switch for a couple of bucks and it works like new.

Thanks, I quite like it. Damn cat is weighing in at 5,334 grams. Welterweight fighter, maybe even light heavyweight.

I bought it off a bakery. I'm guessing they had to spend the dough and buy a new one.

Got a fun 14,000 mile Yamaha 2005 FZ6 locally. Guy was asking $2000. Got it for $1500 including side bags and Yamaha jacket and pants. Feeling lucky.

Nice!
Make sure that someone didn't scare the crap out of him while riding before you try the pants!
