i was ready to buy a NIB 27-2 from 1980, but the guy wanted insane money for it so I'm still on the lookout. I've got another possibility on the horizon.

I shot an older S&W 357 that a buddy owns. I think it may have been a model 19, but I'm not certain, and it was very nice. I've got a J-frame and don't really like it much, but the older model was very, very nice to shoot.

My dad has an early pre-lock 686 that is well broken in, I found the trigger pull to be a bit lighter but not perceptibly smoother. I'm really happy with it.

I may be trading my P250 for a mk3 Colt Trooper with a 6" barrel, I'll be interested in how the 686 compares.

Traded for this yesterday.

It's a mk3 Colt Trooper, nice but not perfect condition. Super smooth action, can't wait to shoot it.

I definitely think you came out on top. I like my P250 (finally getting the hang of the double action trigger) but it's just a polymer wonder nine. That colt is a classic and you will never lose with a fine firearm like that!

Thanks guys, I'm pretty happy with the outcome. It's a beautiful piece of work. I can't wait to shoot it.
