When technology isn't better

Got a box last week from Tobra, FILLED with these little oranges. Seems it was going to get cold in CA, pulled them off his tree and sent them out. A really nice surprise.

These little guys are amazing, seeds and all, remind me of just yesterday when I was a kid. So sweet, bursting with juice, you have to eat 3-4 at a time, have a cup handy or rind to spit out the seeds. Modern fruits and veggies just don't taste like this, bred for size and shipability over taste and, seeds.

Thank you Toby and Merry Christmas my friend!

yes, they are this orange.

My wife buys them all the time. She drives past orange groves everyday to work and back. In season, 10 Hass avocados for a buck.

Some of the best guacamole I've had was in SoCal at a buddy's house using fresh avocados. By the time they get to KS it's not worth the trouble.

I totally thought this was going to be about vinyl records or using an English wheel or something.

Glad you liked them. I really missed the produce when I didn't live here.

I wonder if the frost killed my grapefruit. Probably not, pretty protected spot for that tree and they are plenty thick skinned. The thin skin on those little oranges makes them easy to peel, but gives them zero frost tolerance
