I'm getting the shot next year, just recovering from the flu, had it last year too and its bad. I was never a "shot" kinda guy but I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired every Jan.

There is a flu "shot" that is actually inhaled in the nose. No injection, just a snort in both nostrils.

I am 56 and have had the flu twice in my life.

No, I don't get flu shot. Doc already has me pumped full of meds I don't want for blood sugar/cholesterol/blood pressure.

I work at a museum, everything I work on has been touched by a thousand germ laden children’s hands, thus I have a fairly robust immune system.

Wife has been bugging the heck out of me to get one anyway.

Edit to add: Ironically I work for the state guberment and I am not mandated to get a flu shot... years after I was hired someone realized we work around children so everyone should get a background check... however they could not require it for most of the current workers because we were grandfathered in... A bunch of us volunteered to have the background check anyway (I have never done anything extremely naughty... and if they can't find the bodies they can't prove anything)

i've been called a conspiracy theorist regarding my views/posts about this subject. which is fine. but if you still believe it isn't about money, know this: big pharma is in bed with not only the WHO, but the CDC. the data regarding the epidemiology of the 'swine flu' was skewed by a non-random sample (the initial studies somehow had 80% of the people showing up at the clinic testing positive for swine flu). the CDC's definition of a pandemic was changed after there were ~5000 deaths from swine flu.... a pretty pathetic pandemic... AND the vast majority of those deaths were persons with significant co-morbidities.

again, big pharma is reaping huge profits due to our government's bogus propaganda. follow the money.

if you don't like what i stated, above, do your own research. it will be so much more meaningful to you.

An update. We have 11 confirmed cases of the flu between residents and staff. One of them did NOT receive a flu shot, the rest have.

I never gotten the flu shot and never had the flu untill this past weekend. Went to the doctoer and he confirmed it "YOU HAVE THE FLU" I still feel like crap at times. The doctor gave me Tamaflu ( spelling ?) made me feel much better, I will be getting the shot from now on.
The wife came down the same day with it , so we were stuck in th ehouse for four days together ,we both were too sick to kill each other LOL

and in a few weeks we will hear how they ready for xyx and not xxc...
it's crap shoot at best...

was in the Med. field for yrs..
we administered...
but we choose not too take them..
instead we gave saline shots to each other..
never had one..

BTW..you don't die from the flu..
it's the complications..
like the pneumonia you develop from laying about..

seriously, tho.. the vac's are for what strain mutation is expected to come along. (Yay, it MIGHT be helpful - if someone guessed right ... and your body reacts properly to the vac.)
