Watching the latest version from that young shut-in's imagination from small town Texas.
A bit closer than the sweeping epic to Howard's vision of a lone wanderer, IMO. By Mitra. ;) No movie is perfect however. Cimmeria was cold. Too much Perlman. Conan didn't brood until king and was not a nice guy. Pacing was laborious at times. |
Watching "The Hunger Games" on TNT. Never saw it before...pretty good - I like SciFi.
Has a "The Running Man/Predator/Logan's Run" feel to it. |
Watching Dumb and Dumber......again. I've can't count how many times I've seen it and I still laugh out loud at certain parts.
The bathroom scene is classic. |
Finished our annual marathon last night. The order below are my picks from left to right, but I don't get to vote, just try and influence my daughter.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...psq5zwpkyh.jpg The Big Short was great but really pissed me off that we paid to make these guys rich and no one went to jail. Highly recommended. Spotlight is about molestation in the a Catholic Church and quite sad and disturbing. I loved Trumbo. Well done and well acted. I didn't care for the last two. |

---------------------------------------------------- Ken Takakura absolutely stole the show in "Black Rain". "Matsumoto Masahiro" would have to be one of the truly great movie characters. |

That Mr. Baseball is a movie that grows on you too - the more you see it the better it gets. :) ==== The Hunger games was pretty good - Kravitz as Cinna was cool! https://scribehardonfilm.files.wordp...rence-ltbx.jpg |
"The Lone Ranger" is on USA right now. Not sure when it started but I think it's early in the movie so maybe 6pm E.
This is Hugh's movie, I think. I've never seen it - looks good! |
Sorry for the late notice but 'The Sting' just started 18 min ago on TCM.....
|
Home sick and just finished Ant-Man.
I thought it was pretty entertaining but then I haven't slept for quite some time! |

Quite a production, indeed...and indeed very deserving of the academy recognition. ;) |
"Gravity" on tonight at 8 & 10pm eastern on FXHD.
I watched it last weekend and thought it was OK. A little too much drama from SB for my tastes. Clooney was great. The special effects were pretty cool. |
Watched "American Hustle" last night on FX.....I thought it was OK but can see why it didn't win any academy awards.
Jennifer Lawrence was gorgeous as always. The ending was the best part...total surprise! |

I'm re-watching https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rome_%28TV_series%29 based on true events.
Brilliant tv series, offering realistic portraits of the players and times. |
We watched DeadPool tonight.
Absolutely hilarious!! |
Sorry, it sucked......
|
No it didn't.....
|
The Brothers from Grimsby......English humor at it's crudest. The Gal Pal chuckled all thru but declared it was the grossest thing she ever saw. I thought it was hilarious.
Available at RedBox. |
Formula 51 or 51st State, if you like Samuel Jackson and English humour
|
Tonight at 10PM Eastern on TCM --- the 1973 Don Siegel cult classic "Charlie Varrick" - starring Walter Matthau and Joe Don Baker (and Sheree North! :) )

I think it was unfairly hurt by the casting of depp who is forever pigeon holed and simply doesnt have the range.
|
Depp was hilarious. I thought he did well.
|
Clicked on report post.
|
Saw "Secret Life of Pets" last night; it was cute, but I don't think it lived up to the previews and hype.

...and American Graffiti.
Driving a 2CV. |
I just saw the Bad Santa 2 is coming soon. If it is as funny as Bad Santa it will be great. The original is just hysterical.
|
Tallulah
Watched Tallulah last night, Ellen Page, Tammy Blanchard and others., Pretty good movie though I had to cover my eyes during Page's naked sex scene. She is not sexy!
Blanchard stole every scene she was in, and seemed to have a hard time keeping her clothes on and also was somewhat careless with her baby. I give it a 7.37 out of ten.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1470773870.jpg |
