Yes. He has done some very entertaining movies for several years.

Where Statham and Neeson are repeating the same roles, Washington does action, drunk pilot, autistic lawyer and urban dad -- all equally well. I think he's managing his career better than the other guys.

Certainly, I wish DeNiro was making better choices. Feels like he's diluting his gift.

Next movie i'm most looking forward to is Deadpool 2. The first one was great.

Statham is good in his niche. Neesom has just been taking the money since his wife died. Denzel is good, but he always plays Denzel, so where is the actual difference?
Even the Autistic lawyer was Denzel. Plus he has put on a few pounds, so it is a perfect role for him.

It would take a heck of a role to wake DeNiro up, but at least he is keeping his hand in. He seems to enjoy doing fun movies. He was amazing in that movie where he was the cop who had a stroke. But how many movies like that are out there for older guys ?

Here’s an obscure recommendation: Monsieur Ibrahim with Omar Sharif, late in his career in 2003.

"Dirty Harry" just started on Ovation.

Last night they showed all 3 Leone Spaghetti Western's with Clint on TCM. I couldn't stay awake for all 3 but watched as much as I could.

stevej37 06-14-2018 03:32 PM

Saw this one last weekend. A different type of horror movie. Almost no jump-scares...but a good movie.

WTF?
I think it's supposed to be artsy, but I guess if that doesn't work, then it'll get views from dudes hoping it's a semi-lolita type movie.

Foreign film with subtitles, good story, good muay thai action. Sort of Jackie Chan-ish at times but some of these guys were really bashed in the head from what I can tell.

You have to sign in and register, but it's free and worth every penny. :)

Yes, the Love Bug was on earlier, on a different channel

Oceans 8. I watched for an hour. Not a terrible movie. I just got bored. Plot, to steal a $150,000 diamond necklace. For some reason I just did not care enough to see how it ended. Not a bad movie, just not for me.

mreid 07-02-2018 05:15 AM

Molly’s Game.

The wife and I were nursing hangovers on the couch yesterday and watched this movie. The wife usually has her phone and iPad going at the same time. She never picked them up and later said she didn’t want to miss anything. We thought it was really well done and a true story.

JackDidley 07-02-2018 07:52 PM

The catcher was a spy. Based on a true story . WW2 story about a baseball player recruited by the United States OSS to kill Hiesenberg . Not a great movie with big name actors but very well made and sort of interesting. I liked it.

Baz 07-06-2018 11:21 AM

Thanks for all the posts....keep 'em coming......

Coming up on cable (Movies Channel) at 5pm - "Marathon Man" .... followed at 8pm by "The Presidio"...

Eric 951 07-06-2018 11:29 AM

Just re-watched "The Machinist"--great movie

Also "Gumball Rally" was/is on TCM

JackDidley 07-12-2018 08:55 PM

Anon. Netflix movie, I think. SciFi, sort of. A little sex, a little drugs and a bit more violence. And mind control. lots of mind control. Whats not to like ? Well made. Suspense. My kind of movie. Really liked it.:D:D

Baz 07-19-2018 03:48 PM

Coming up on TMC......several McQueen flicks starting with Bullitt at 8pm eastern, followed by The Sand Pebbles, The Cincinnati Kid, and finally Nevada Smith.

Remember that TMC has no commercials during it's movies!

Baz 07-23-2018 04:26 PM

Watching "The Force Awakens" again on TNT. I watched it yesterday too and have it on DVD. I think it's a fantastic episode of the series.....

The part when they take off in the Millenium Falcon is awesome.....and will be coming up soon......:p

I may be in the minority here but I love the new Star Wars movies. The force Awakens is brilliant. The Last Jedi was everything I could hope for, Solos was great and Rouge One was inspiring!

Well done Disney! :)

I heard The Shallows was good. DVR set- thanks for the heads up!

First Man looks good- I'm a big Ryan Gosling fan.

Equalizer 2 delivers the expected satisfaction.

Need to see Mission Impossible Fallout ASAP...

sc_rufctr 07-27-2018 08:08 AM

I watched The Bourne Supremacy again tonight. I haven't seen it in a few years and I forgot how good it was.

This scene always gets me...

Me too, Jack......the first "Equalizer" was unreal. Denzel! :p

JackDidley 07-29-2018 06:23 AM

The ghost in the shell. Scfi with lots of action. A little bit of Blade Runner thrown in. Too much computer generated imaging and super human action going on for me but it was not terrible . It was better than anything else on late last night.

Interesting. I think I may watch The Meg. I love sharks!

Saw Mission: Impossible - Fallout tonight and thought it was excellent. Great action in cars, motorcycles, etc, and really good hand to hand combat.
