Worth going to the theater to see The Martian.

We watched "SPY" tonight.

Laugh out loud funny! Jason Statham's character is very funny.

Lots of F bombs and even a couple of dick jokes so not really safe for the kiddies.

The greatest film that never was. It got to production stage and the studio halted it.
The story was remade by David Lynch.

Watched The Bad Seed last night on AMC. My daughter came down about halfway through and watched the rest with me. She said "that little girl is kind of a brat". Ya think?

Absolutely loved the ending scene. ;)

I don't understand the political dynamics and who or what drives movie making, but it just seems someone said to Ridley Scott, "Here's a hundred million. Can you please just make a cool, entertaining movie that makes sense? Just this one time? We don't need another Prometheus right now. Please."

I do have one rub with it and that is using Matt Damon and "Murf", both from Interstellar.

I would have rather seen "Skinny Pete" from Breaking Bad as the lead and Miranda Cosgrove (ICarly) as the ship captain. :D

I liked Prometheus a lot, even though understanding it is difficult and some of the plot is unexplained. I thought The Martian was ho-hum by comparison.

We saw it this week. My wife liked it but I thought it was lind of corney near the end, cartoonish. But oh well, what do I know.

Oh, me as well (liking Prometheus). Look at my post. Not beating on Prometheus one iota. We are on the same page.

Watched Prometheus probably five times, scrounged DVD extra treats, hours of youtube critiques ad nauseam and web write-ups. Waiting for P2 anxiously.

That said, The Martian is very satisfying and we are well entertained. He (they) did a great job

Scott's directing skills are extraordinary. Top five of all time? He is in the small cluster lagging Kubrick. My take. Clearly debatable. Saving Private Ryan (SS) has to be one the best movies of all time.

You know what the difference is between the movies? I am not seeking an opportunity to watch The Martian again.

Plenty of corney. Like the dude not knowing who the head of NASA was. Although the stapler scene was pretty funny.;)

Astronauts moving huge distances outside the ship untethered. The capture.

The visqueen and duct tape thing was a bit of a stretch.

But for entertainment, it worked for me. Way more than Gravity.

They should have kept the original ending.

Just saw Bridge of Spies. Very good movie. Gary Powers exchange movie.

Just saw The Walk. Based on the true story of Philippe Petit.

Brilliant movie and a fitting tribute to the World Trade Center. RIP to the victims.

Cheated and listened to the end of the audio book. More palatable.

The original documentary required some stamina to get get through.

Also just saw Bridge of Spies. Great story told without being weighted down with the usual action special effects. Tom Hanks was really good.

I'm watching "12 hours to kill" with Barbara Eden. Jeez, she was just smokin' hot.

Besides that, the movie is pretty good.

Watching "Bowery Bombshell" on AMC now.

I've never took much interest in them but they are really funny. I always liked Abbott and Costello but this one is on par with any of their movies.

A little slapstick combined with some really funny, sarcastic lines.

Saw Spectre last Sunday. Good movie however, less of everything. Less action, less fights, less adultery, less mind blowing views, and of course less gizmos. Pretty disappointed. Most disappointing was lack of personality from Christopher Waltz. He is such a great actor, he could have played a darker, more creepier role.

Other than that less of everything still makes a good Bond movie.

"I'll Be Me". Maybe I'm just getting old and sentimental, but this brought me to tears a few times. Totally amazing story, and Glen's spirit shines though.

On AMC tonight - just finishing up with Conan the Barbarian (the original with Arnold, Mako, and Lopez).

Then at 8:30 the sequel....Conan the Destroyer - with Wilt and Grace Jones!

CROM....some good viewing tonight! :)
